摘要
以往关于根尖表型特征与解剖性状关联的研究主要集中在乔木中,而鲜少关注藤本植物这一特殊的植被类群。通过测定海南热带森林中10种藤本植物(包括木质和草质藤本)根尖直径和解剖特征,探究藤本植物根尖以上功能性状的分布格局,以及根直径与解剖特征间的关联。结果表明,藤本植物根尖直径和解剖特征具有明显的种间差异,但差异程度依赖于具体的指标和植物种类。根直径和解剖特征在两种生活型间的差异并未达到显著水平(P>0.05)。根尖直径与皮层厚度和中柱直径在种间具有显著正相关关系(P<0.05),尤其与前者的关联性更强。皮层厚度和中柱直径的变化分别由皮层细胞特征和导管特征变化引起,体现为皮层厚度与皮层细胞直径和皮层细胞层数在种间显著的正相关关系,以及中柱直径与导管直径之间紧密的正相关关系,然而中柱直径与导管数量的相关性较弱。以上结果说明藤本植物根尖直径的改变是由解剖特征的变化引起,该研究结果对于深入了解热带森林生态系统中植物根尖结构与功能的关联机制具有重要意义。
Previous studies on the correlat ion between root tip phenotypic characteristics and anatomical traits mainly focused on trees, but little attention was paid to a special plant group of climbing plants. By measuring root tip diameter and anatomical traits of ten species of climbing plants(including lianas and vines) from tropical forests in Hainan, the distribution patterns of these functional traits and the associations between root diameter and anatomical traits in root tip of climbing plants were investigated. The results showed that root tip diameter and anatomical traits showed obvious interspecific variations, but the degree of variation was dependent on specific traits and species. There was no significant difference in root tip diameter and anatomical traits between the two life forms(P>0.05). Root tip diameter showed significant positive correlations with cortical thickness and stele diameter among 10 species, with a stronger relationship between root tip diameter and cortical thickness(P<0.05).Changes of cortical thickness and stele diameter were caused by changes in cortical cell and conduit traits, respectively. It was reflected as significant positive correlations between cortical thickness and cortical cell diameter and the number of cortical cell layer, as well as a strong positive correlation between root tip stele diameter and conduit diameter among species. However, the relationship between stele diameter and the number of conduits per stele was weaker. These results suggest that changes in root tip diameter of climbing plants are caused by changes in anatomical traits, which are of great significance for understanding the mechanism of linkage between root tip structure and function in tropical forest ecosystems.
