摘要
弃妇是古今中外的文学母题之一,而怨妇和恶妇是常见的两种弃妇类型。作为一名女性作家,爱丽丝·门罗同样关注弃妇主题,这也成为她探讨人的生存策略的一种方式。相较于前人笔下的怨妇和恶妇类型,门罗描写的弃妇有所嬗变。在《明信片》中,弃妇接纳了被抛弃的事实,作者强调了弃妇对生命流变的接受;在《我怎样遇见我丈夫》和《忘情》中,弃妇不仅接受了被抛弃的事实,并且适应变化,开始了新的恋情,采取了唯变所适的态度;在《我年轻时候的朋友》中,弃妇则在失去爱情、亲情和财产后,转而通以尽利,以更强的主动性寻找到属于她的幸福之路。弃妇母题在门罗作品里的嬗变体现了其所提倡的智慧的生存策略。
The abandoned woman is one of the literary motifs in world literature.Complaining women and evil women are the two types of abandoned women.There are two meanings in transmutations.One is that Monroe′s abandoned women have changed compared with the types of resentful and evil women written by predecessors.The other is that within Monroe′s works,abandoned women are also changing.As a female writer,Munro regards abandoned woman as one of her focuses which is a way to discuss human survival strategies.Postcard emphasizes the abandoned woman′s acceptance of the life flux;in How I Met My Husband and Carried away,the abandoned women not only accept the fact of being deserted,but also adapt to the changes and develop a new romance with an accepting attitude.The heroine in Friend of My youth,in the predicament of losing love,kinship and property,changes herself initiatively to find her own path to happiness.The transmutations of the abandoned woman motif in Alice Munro′s works reflect her intelligent female survival strategies.
