Famous for her works surrounding the subject matter of military life,Ma Xiao-li,a writer from Liaoning Province,China,insists on her attention paid to the individual life and its embodiment.She reveals the individual life by depicting its external environment,explores his/her spiritual predicament by uncovering his/her internal world,and finally seeks out the individual’s greatness from his/her insignificant behaviors.This kind of insistence is what she cherishes most in her literary creation.
