摘要
随着绞车等加力机械的引入和弩炮类武器的不断大型化,传统的弓体结构成为机械武器发展的瓶颈和障碍。古希腊工程师最终设计出蓄能能力更强大的扭力发条装置以替代弓体,成功地解决了这一技术难题。扭力发条的结构和原理经历了由简单到复杂、由粗糙到精密的演化过程。扭力机械不仅是古希腊科学技术和工程设计的产物,它的引入和改进本身也促进了古典世界机械工程学和数学方法论的发展。
With the introduction of torque limiting extension machinery such as winches and the continuous enlargement of catapults,the traditional bow structure became the bottleneck in the development of war machinery.The Ancient Greek engineers finally solved this technical problem through designation of torsion spring which has greater energy storage capacity to replace bow structure.The structure of torsion spring developed from simple and rough to complex and sophisticated.Torsion machinery was not only the outcome of science and technology as well as engineering designing in Ancient Greece,its introduction and improvement also promoted mechanical engineering and mathematical methodology in Classical world.
