This study takes the Shangxiahang historical block in Fuzhou to explore the differences in soundscape experience of different groups by subjectively evaluating sound source perception characteristics and soundscape perception based on people’s preferences for different types of sound sources. The results show: 1) Soundscape preference groups can be divided into artificial sound preference groups and natural sound preference groups;2) Artificial sound preference groups prefer to sound sources with local characteristics, while the natural sound preference groups give the highest score to the sounds of birds and wind-through-leaves. The scores of soundscape comfort and coordination given by the artificial sound preference groups are significantly lower than those by natural sound preference groups(P<0.05);3) The perception of soundscape experience in the historical block can be divided into 5 dimensions of comfort, soundscape quality, richness, intensity and interests, and these dimensions are hierarchical;and 4) Age, education and visit frequency are closely correlated with sound source preference(P<0.05), and the artificial sound preference groups present the characteristics of greater age, low education and high visit frequency. The study would provide the theoretical basis for the design and optimization of the soundscape in historical blocks.
