The current global climate change has aroused people’s great attention, and the increase(O_(3))of ozone concentration is one of the problems. This phenomenon has affected the rice and wheat which people depend on for survival to some extent,so we must pay attention to it and develop solutions.EDU is a major effective chemical substances to alleviate O_(3) stress at present. It has certain protective and alleviating effects on O_(3) stressed plants. But the mechanism of action is not fully understood. On the basis of the existing studies, the use mode and appropriate concentration of EDU were introduced,as well as its transport and effective time in plants. The effects of EDU on growth, morphological parameters and yield of rice and wheat under O_(3) stress were summarized, and the mechanism was discussed from physiological, biochemical and genetic perspectives.
