Objective To explore the application value of critically ill dedicated group care model in severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)patients with respiratory failure. Methods 70 patients with severe COPD complicated with respiratory failure treated in the respiratory department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University from January 2019 to June 2021 were randomly divided into two groups with 35 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing care, and the observation group took the critically ill full-time group nursing model,to compare and analyze the changes of blood gas analysis indexes, recovery status, and quality of life between the two groups. Results After intervention, the observation group’s arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO_(2))was lower than that of the control group, and the arterial blood oxygen pressure(PaO_(2))and health survey summary(SF-36)scores were higher than those of the control group. They were admitted to the respiratory intensive care unit(RICU),mechanical ventilation and hospital stay were shorter than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The critically ill full-time group nursing model can effectively improve the blood gas indexes of severe COPD patients with respiratory failure, promote the recovery of the disease, and improve the quality of life of the patients.
