Urban rural integration is the only way to solve the major social contradictions and achieve high-quality development. The booming digital economy has provided new impetus for urban-rural integration. From 2011 to 2020,the urban and rural integration and digital economy development index of 30 provinces and cities in China(Due to the lack of data, the statistical data mentioned here do not include Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province.)were measured. On the basis of analyzing the impact mechanism of digital economy on urban-rural integration, the intermediary effect model and spatial Dubin fixed effect model were used to test the impact of digital economy on urban-rural integration. The results show that the digital economy has a significant positive impact on urban-rural integration. The digital economy forms an indirect promoting effect by improving the misallocation of capital elements and data elements. Finally, the spatial Dubin fixed effect model finds that the positive impact of digital economy on urban-rural integration is characterized by spatial spillover and regional heterogeneity. Therefore, the application of digital technology in agriculture, medical care,education,e-commerce and other fields needs to be promoted.Strengthening resource sharing, building a digital economy inclusive pattern, and breaking the“barriers”between urban and rural areas are also important paths to ultimately achieve urban-rural integration.
