In order to investigate the lactation performance and milk quality of hybrid F1(Jersey cattle-yak)of Jersey cattle and yak,10 Jersey cattle-yaks and 10 Gannan yak in apparent good health were selected to determine the milk yield, and milk was collected to analyze various nutrients contents such as milk protein, butterfat, lactose, solids non-fat(SNF)and fatty acid composition. The results showed that the milk yield of Jersey cattle-yak from June to October in 2020 was 972.60 kg,which was higher than that of Gannan yak. Contents of milk protein, butterfat, lactose, and solids non-fat(SNF)in Jersey cattle-yak were slightly lower compared to that of Gannan yak(P>0.05). Moreover, contents of decanoic acid, lauric acid, arachidonic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid and erucic acid were significant higher than that of Gannan yak. In conclusion,Jersey cattle-yak has a better lactation performance, and its milk quality was comparable to Gannan yak. Jersey cattle-yak is suitable to use for milk production in Qinghai Tibetan Plateau area.
