摘要
由麦觐廷经营的同泰行为清代嘉道时期广州十三行其中一家,通常被视作资浅望轻者。较之受学界更多关注的其他商行,同泰行在其存续期间的运作情况以及与欧洲商人的商业交往迄今暂无比较系统的研究成果,预留的探讨空间依旧充分。通过解读西方收藏的档案文献,并广泛征引业已出版的相关史料,可就同泰行从创建到倒闭的历史作大致还原,继而对“广州体制”后期小行商所面临的经营困境有进一步的认识。
Tung-Tae Hong,which was established by Poonequa,was one of the thirteen Hongs in Canton during the Jia-Jing and Dao-Guang period in Qing Dynasty.It was generally considered as the minor one.Compared with other Hongs which have received more attention from the academic community,there has been no systematic research on the operation of Tung-Tae Hong and its commercial contacts with European merchants during its existence,so there is still plenty of space for discussion.By interpreting and utilizing western archives and extensively quoting published historical materials,the history of Tung-Tae Hong from its establishment to its collapse can be roughly restored,and then the bussiness difficulties faced by junior Hong merchants in the late period of Canton system can be further understood.
