摘要
茅盾在《红楼梦》研究中,提出的“小说语言一般叙述故事、描写环境的文字大都用接近口语的通俗的文言”的观点,应引起学界重视。深入阐释和研究“接近口语的通俗的文言”,对于认知两千余年间中国文学语言的演化规律,探究通俗文言与现代白话之间的复杂关系,重新理解古代文言与现代白话,以及当下现代汉语语境中如何理解和运用文言等问题,颇有启示,可为学界一直争论的“新文学与旧文学”“精英文学与通俗文学”“古代文学与近代文学、现代文学、当代文学”等问题提供另一种思路。我们应持更加开阔和包容的理念,认为它们都是中国文学语言古今演变的产物,也都是中国文学自身发展到不同阶段不可或缺的部分。
In the study of A Dream of Red Mansions,Mao Dun put forward the opinion that"in fictional language,the language used to narrate stories and describe the environment is mostly approximate to colloquial and demotic classical Chinese".We should pay more attention to this viewpoint.An in-depth interpretation and study of"classical Chinese approximate to colloquial and demotic language"is conducive to the understanding of the evolution law of Chinese literary language over the past two thousand years,exploration of the complex relationship between colloquial classical Chinese and modern vernacular,reinterpretation of ancient classical and modern vernacular Chinese,and how to understand and apply classical Chinese under the current context of modern Chinese.Besides,it probably can provide another way of thinking for the issues that have been debated in the academic community,such as"new literature vs.old literature","elite literature vs.popular literature",and"ancient literature vs.premodern,modern and contemporary literature".Based on a more open and inclusive concept,we hold that they are all products of the ancient and modern evolution of Chinese literary language,and are also indispensable parts of the different development stages of Chinese literature itself.
