Cardiovascular disease is the world's first fatal disease, and vascular remodeling is the pathological basis of a variety of cardiovascular diseases.Metabolic disorders, such as hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia, are important risk factors for promoting the occurrence and development of vascular remodeling. However, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)has not received enough attention as one of the widely prevalent metabolic diseases worldwide.Increasing clinical evidences and mechanistic findings suggest that NAFLD is closely related to the development of cardiovascular disease, but direct evidence on NAFLD as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease is still lacking. This review systematically expounds the relevant evidence that NAFLD promotes vascular remodeling from the perspective of clinical research, and further clarifies the significance of NAFLD as an important pathogenic factor in cardiovascular disease.
