Yuhuanggou fault is the only fault of scale in Mianyang Science and Technology City New Area, and its quaternary activ-ity is of great significance to the planning, construction and earthquake prevention and disaster reduction of the area.In this paper,UAV aerial survey, seismic geological survey, trough disclosure, artificial seismic exploration, joint drilling section and other meth-ods were used to detect and reveal the activities of the fault. The detection results show that:1)the fault dip SE,with a dip Angle from 20°to 30°,is a thrust fault;2)The linear structure is obvious in the cretaceous bedrock area, but not in the Quaternary overburden area;3)Artificial seismic exploration infers that the upper breakpoint is from 15 m to 20 m above the surface and does not enter the Quaternary overburden layer;4)The joint borehole section reveals that there is no dislocation of the basal over-burden on both sides of the fault. Therefore,it is concluded that the Yuhuanggou fault has been inactive at least since the late Pleis-tocene,and may have been formed during the Himalayan Act I orogenic period.
