摘要
美国著名现代舞蹈家默斯·坎宁汉在与约翰·凯奇的合作与交往中接触到铃木大拙讲述的禅宗思想,并深受禅的启发。在禅的影响下,坎宁汉借助凯奇发明的“偶发程序”实现舞蹈动作的“本来面目”,以动作的独立性取代连续性,颠覆了传统剧场中“二元”因果性的叙述模式。在禅宗“本自具足”思想的影响下,坎宁汉认为动作即动作本身,无需他者的指涉,打破了传统舞蹈剧场中的“中心”思想,实现了舞蹈与音乐的并行不悖。坎宁汉将舞蹈视为一种“在身体形式中的精神训练”,强调动作的同时更加关注自我的觉知,旨在通过舞蹈实现主体的精神自觉。
In the cooperation and communication with John Cage,Merce Cunningham,a famous American modern dancer,encountered the Zen thoughts told by Daisetz Suzuki,and was deeply inspired by Zen.Under the influence of Zen,Cunningham realized the“original face”of dance movements with the help of the“chance procedures”invented by Cage,replaced the continuity of dance with the independence of movements,and subverted the“binary”causal narrative mode in the traditional theater.Under the influence of the Zen thoughts of“original self-sufficiency”,Cunningham believed that the movement was the movement itself without the reference of others,broke the concept of“center”in the traditional dance theater,and realized the coexistence of dance and music.Cunningham regarded dance as a kind of“spiritual exercise in physical form”,emphasizing the dance movement yet paying more attention to the self-awareness of the subject,with the aim to realize the spiritual consciousness of the subject through dance.
