摘要
本文分别从外部竞争环境、资源与能力以及网络和平台多个视角,综合应用跨国公司理论、动态能力理论和生态系统理论,构建企业数字化对国际化影响机制研究的整合分析框架,并归纳出三条核心影响机制:获取竞争优势、提升动态能力和构建生态系统。首先,企业数字化有助于克服跨国公司的外来者劣势、建立后发优势,从而促进企业国际化;其次,企业数字化有助于提高内外部资源配置效率、提升企业动态能力,从而促进企业国际化;最后,企业数字化有助于构建商业生态系统、降低交易成本、提高交易效率、提升价值创造能力,从而促进企业国际化。在此基础上,本文提出未来研究的方向,为数字经济背景下的企业国际化提供拓展思路。
Digitalization has a profound impact on enterprise strategy,organizational management,and production operations.However,there are different opinions on the effect of enterprise digitalization on internationalization,requiring further analysis of the influencing mechanism.From the perspectives of the external competitive environment,resources,and capabilities,as well as networks and platforms,this paper constructs an integrated analytical framework to investigate the influencing mechanism.This paper proposes that enterprise digitalization has multiple effects on internationalization,with a dominant positive promotion effect.Then,it identifies and summarizes three core mechanisms,including obtaining competitive advantages,improving dynamic capabilities,and building ecosystems.First,enterprise digitalization assists multinational companies in overcoming the liability of foreignness and establishing a latecomer advantage,thus promoting internationalization.Enterprise digitalization can mitigate the challenges of information asymmetry due to geographical distance and the inadequate legitimacy resulting from institutional distance,thereby overcoming their liability of foreignness in the host country.It can also promote cross-border mergers and acquisitions or international entrepreneurship,thereby facilitating latecomer advantages for small and medium-sized enterprises or enterprises from developing countries.Second,enterprise digitalization can improve the efficiency of internal and external resource allocation and enhance dynamic capabilities,thus promoting internationalization.Enterprise digitalization can facilitate precision marketing and foster organizational learning,enhancing perception capabilities.It can bolster organizational flexibility and corporate governance,thus strengthening refactoring capabilities.Additionally,it can improve operational efficiency and human capital,enhancing resource acquisition capabilities.Third,enterprise digitalization can establish business ecosystems,reduce transaction costs,improve transaction efficiency,and enhance value-creation capabilities,thereby promoting internationalization.Enterprise digitization can reduce the cost of information search,communication,and coordination in overseas markets,while improving transaction efficiency.It can promote collaborative effects among multiple entities and enable value co-creation among enterprises as well as between enterprises and consumers.Moreover,it improves corporate innovation performance and social responsibility performance,enhancing the value of intangible assets such as technology,brand,and reputation.This paper makes the following contributions.It enriches the field of enterprise digitalization and internationalization and constructs an integrated analytical framework to investigate the influencing mechanisms of enterprise digitalization on internationalization.By identifying and summarizing three core influencing mechanisms,it provides an extensive perspective on enterprise internationalization in the digital economy.
