摘要
通过对277名出国访问学者和29名从事出国留学短期英语强化教学工作的教师的问卷调查,结合对6名正在国外访学的中国学者的专题采访,基于ESP教学理论,深度剖析了出国留学短期英语强化教学所面临的现实困境与相关问题对出国访问学者英语有效交际能力的制约和影响,总结了提升出国留学短期英语强化教学效果的策略:借鉴ESP教学理论,夯实教学体系的科学性;强调教与学的一致性;彰显培训理念的前瞻性,以期在有限的培训时间内实现更好的培训效果。
Two questionnaire surveys were conducted respectively,one among 29 English training teachers from one of the 11 MOE Training Centers for Overseas Study in China and the other among 277 governmentsponsored visiting scholars;six Chinese visiting scholars were interviewed during their academic visit in Britain.Based on the results derived from the surveys and interviews,the problems of the English Training Program for Chinese visiting scholars going abroad as well as the influence caused by the problems on the cultural and academic adaptation of Chinese visiting scholars to a foreign environment were analyzed.Relevant strategies were proposed from the perspectives of ESP teaching theories,educational psychology and cross-cultural communication.It was pointed out that in order to improve the effectiveness of the Short-term intensive English Training Program for government-sponsored visiting scholars,both the MOE Training Centers and the visiting scholars should stick to a scientific cognition of both linguistics and language training,emphasize the consistency between the trainers’training purposes,techniques and contents etc.and the trainees’basic requirements,and show a good sense of being forward-looking.
