当代诗歌批评中的“古典性”与“现代性”之辨

摘要 关于汉语新诗之“古典性”与“现代性”问题的讨论,自新文学初期就已开始。“古典”即意味落后,“古典性”与“现代性”相对立等论调,随着新诗获得普遍认可后便逐渐销声匿迹。但对这两个命题的讨论,却一直延续到当代诗歌批评中,并逐渐成为较核心的诗学问题。虽然诗论者们对“古典性”与“现代性”的定义及延展各个不同,但也往往会将其并举,认为两者原是摆脱“平庸”的不同法门,而很少会在两者间建立严格对立的关系。自1980年代末以来,批评界秉承着推动诗歌创作发展的宗旨,热衷于讨论在古典诗词中发掘现代性以及在现代诗中激活、重续与转化古典资源的可能性,据此提出了“新古典主义”“古典现代性”等力图熔铸古今、打通中西的诗学概念。 At the beginning of new vernacular literature initiated the discussion on the“classicality”and“modernity”of modern Chinese poetry,the arguments occurring that classicality means obsoleteness and classicality and modernity are opposite to each other,as has faded gradually after the wide acceptance of new vernacular poetry.However,the discussion on the two propositions has been going on in contemporary poetic criticism as one of its core topics to some extent.Though the two terms have been defined and extended in different ways by critics,they have always been placed in the same category as two different methods to escape from mediocrity,seldom set against each other.Since the late 1980s,the critics,aiming at promoting the development of poetry,have enthusiastically participated in the discussion on the possibilities of discovering modernity in classical poetry and activating,renewing and transforming classical resources in modern poetry,and accordingly put forward such poetic concepts as“neoclassicism”and“classical modernity”to fuse the ancient and the modern and bridge the East and the West.
