The comprehensive impact of reservoir dam failure risk is analyzed, and the vulnerability indicators for diagnosing and identifying the environmental impact of dam failure are diagnosed. On the basis of the principle of set pair analysis,by improving the construction method of five-element affiliation function, combining the five-element gravitational subtraction set pair potential and level eigenvalues,we constructed a dam failure environmental impact evaluation model based on the five-element gravitational subtraction set pair potential, which was applied to analyze and demonstrate Shaheji Reservoir. The results show that the evaluation results of the model in the environmental impact of dam failure in reservoirs are more reasonable and reliable compared with other evaluation methods, and the evaluation results are a real value with certain accuracy. The evaluation indexes are diagnosed and recognized,in which the evaluation indexes of river morphology, vegetation cover, soil environment, and polluted industry are the main factors affecting the results of the environmental evaluation of dam breaching in Shaheji Reservoir. The dam-break environmental impact evaluation model of five-element gravitational subtraction set pair potential can provide a new idea for the environmental impact evaluation of reservoir dam-break.
