Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Herbert screws through C-arm guided percutaneous dorsal approach in the treatment of B2 type wrist scaphoid fractures. Methods From August 2018 to August 2023,11 patients with B2 type wrist scaphoid fractures admitted to our hospital were treated with hollow Herbert screws for minimally invasive treatment. The clinical symptoms and wrist function of the patients before and after surgery were evaluated using visual analogue scale(VAS)and modified Mayo wrist score(MMWS).Results All 11 patients successfully completed the surgery and received complete follow-up for 6 to 12 months, with an average of 9.6 months. The clinical healing time of fractures was 11 to 16 weeks, with an average of 14.2 weeks. The postoperative patient's VAS(1.55±0.69)score and MMWS score(89.55±7.89)score were significantly improved compared to the preoperative VAS(5.45±0.93)score and MMWS score(55.45±6.88)score,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The Herbert screws through C-arm guided percutaneous dorsal approach can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and wrist joint function of patients with B2 type scaphoid fractures, and help them return to normal life.
