线粒体是真核生物中非常重要的细胞器之一,它参与ATP的合成以及物质代谢、细胞凋亡等多种生理过程。在研究线粒体功能时,粟酒裂殖酵母是一种很好的模式生物。在本文中,我们研究了与线粒体相关的蛋白Sls1的功能。在非发酵型培养基上,Δsls1突变菌株的生长出现缺陷。Western-Blot实验表明,在Δsls1菌株中,线粒体编码蛋白的水平也出现了剧烈的降低。敲除sls1影响了线粒体编码蛋白Cox1的合成。我们的研究表明Sls1是一个与线粒体功能密切相关的蛋白,它的其中一个功能是维持了线粒体编码蛋白的正常水平,并且参与了线粒体编码蛋白Cox1的合成。
Mi tochondrion is an important organelle in eukaryotic organisms,which is involved in the synthesis of ATP and a variety of physiological processes like metabolism and apoptosis. The fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe has served as an excellent model eukaryote to investigate mitochondrial biogenesis.In this study, we researched the function of Sls1, which is associated with mitochondrion. The sls1 deletion mutant exhibits growth defects in non-fermentablemedia. Western blot assays demonstrated a seriously decrease in mitochondrial protein levels. Deletion of sls1 impairs the synthesis of mitochondrial protein Cox1. Our findings suggested that Sls1 should be a protein which was closely associated with the function of mitochondrion and one of Sls1's functions was to maintain the normal mitochondrial protein levels of S. pombe and that Sls1 affected the synthesis of mitochondrial protein Cox1.
