Since robots are being introduced to a wider area, more and more controlling of robots are changing into distribution system. Developed by Microsoft, DCOM can make objects on different computers communicate each other. In this article, a summarization on current research efforts for open architecture robots is given and a kind of distributed OAR(Open Architecture for Robot) framework based on DCOM is proposed.
