摘要
本文论述了当代影响最大、使用最广、最具有典型意义的两大区域性英语变体——英国英语和美国英语的发展简史,各自特点及语音(含语调)、词汇、语法、拼写方面的差异;分析了二者的未来发展趋势;指出了英语学习者对待它们的正确态度。
Differences in pronunciation(including intonation), vocabulary , spelling and grammar of British English and American English—two of the most outstanding ,influential and widely-used English varieties of modern times are distinguished ;their brief history , individual features and future development are discussed; the correct studying attitude toward them is proposed.
