摘要
电力英语源属于科技英语范畴,在第二次世界大战结束后,随着英语在科学技术领域内的地位不断提高而渐渐出现的技术语言体系。相对于传统英语普通读物与文学读物,科技英语具有很强的特性,其中电力英语在词汇、语言和语句风格上的特性尤为突出,使得译者在翻译科技英语文献时更加容易出错误。在分析电力英语的语言特点的基础上,结合奈达的功能对等理论分别从词义层面、语义层面和风格层面研究核电能源应用方向电力英语的翻译,最后基于其独特的文体特点,对功能对等理论在英语翻译中的应用进行总结归纳。
The English for Electric Power belongs to the EST which was created after the Second World War.It appears with the increasing of English in the field of science and technology.Compared with traditional English reading material and literature material,EST has stronger characteristics especially the English for Electric Power.Translation errors and loopholes are easy to appear when the translator does not understand the words and sentences.At the beginning,this paper expounds Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory based on the analysis of the English for Electric Power.By the Functional Equivalence Theory,there are three aspects to study on the Application of Nuclear Energy.Those three aspects are as follows,the first aspect is the word.The second aspect is the sentence.The third aspect is the language style.And in the last part of this paper,based on unique stylistic features of English for Electric Power,the author summarizes the application of Functional Equivalence Theory in the translation of Nuclear Energy.
