摘要
原型范畴理论是认知语言学中的主要内容之一,对亚里士多德2000多年前的经典范畴理论作出了一系列的批判。英汉构词的差异性显示,笔者发现汉语常用"属加种差"的义类构词法,主要就是运用了表示基本范畴层次的概念来构词,这就使得汉语词具有明显的义类范畴标记,而英语构词缺乏这一明显特征,这也是英汉两民族对基本层次概念在构词功能上的认识差异所致。
The prototype theory is one of the most important topics in cognitive linguistics, which severely criticizes the classical theory of categories proposed by Aristotle more than 2000 years ago. Through the contrast of wordformation between English and Chinese, we can find the particular way of wordformation in Chinese-specific properties plus basic level terms-is actually a kind of the application of the prototype theory, thus making the Chinese words distinctively marked with the semantic category feature, which the English words do not often have. This is caused by the cognition of basic level of category of the two nations in wordformation.
