Green chemistry is chemistry that prevents pollution from its sources.It is one of the important frontier fields in modern international chemical research today and also a branch of sciences in the 21st century. Research principals and items and characteristic and key technologies of green chemistry were discussed. It is pointed out that green chemistry is the only way for environmental protection in China. [
