摘要
微生物以极大的数量统治了全球海洋,但是对其群体动力学、代谢复杂性以及协同作用等仍知之甚少。近年来,大规模测序技术的应用,尤其是宏基因组测序和16S rRNA测序已经逐渐成为研究海洋微生物生态系统的主要工具。这种不培养单个物种,而是直接通过测序提取所有微生物个体的遗传信息去研究微生物生态系统的成分和功能的方法,极大地促进了人们对海洋微生物世界的认识。本文简要介绍海洋生态系统学中的基本问题和最新计算分析方法。
Metagenomics has become an important tool for the study of microbial eco-systems as the cost of high-throughput sequencing decreased dramatically in recent years.The large-scale sequencing of DNA isolated directly from environmental samples without culturing individual species has greatly facilitated the study of functional and taxonomic compositions and structures in microbial communities.Metagenomics has many applications in investigating the influence of microbial community on both ecological environments and human healths.Metagenomics involved in the investigations of marine eco-systems for around ten years and many important results were obtained recently.In this paper,we briefly introduce the application of metagenomics and corresponding mathematical models and methods to study marine eco-systems and biogeography.
