摘要
委婉语是普遍存在的一种语言现象,在语言交际中起着十分重要的作用。本文结合实例,介绍了英语委婉语在英美社会生活中的广泛使用情况及其修辞功能。融合作者多年的教学实践,对英语委婉语的使用特点、使用情况及其修辞功能做了全面的分析探讨,这对当前大学英语的教学有着深刻的影响意义。
euphemism is a common language phenomenon,which plays a very important role in language communication.This paper introduces the extensive use of English Euphemism and its rhetorical function in the British and American social life.In this thesis,the author has made a comprehensive analysis on the characteristics,purpose,use of English Euphemism and its rhetorical function in the teaching practice of the author for many years.
