摘要
本文对新近发现的贵州省桐梓县马鞍山南洞遗址的试掘结果作简要报道,其石制品的一般面貌与马鞍山旧石器文化遗址的基本一致。
The south cave of Ma'anshan site is situated at the foot of the hill of Ma'anshan on the south of Tongzi town, Guizhou Province. It was discovered in 1989. In the next winter, authors investigated the site, and excavated a trench (1×5m2) in the cave. From the trench, about 63 stone artifacts and a large number of animal bones were found, while we collected the remains, which include about 139 stone artifacts and lots of animal bones and 4 fossil human teeth, that scattered in the accumulation near entrance of the cave. The remains collected, in fact, are originally from the cave deposits. The mammalian fossil species include Ursus, Ai-luropoda melanoleuca, Rhinoceros sinensis, Megatapirus augustus, Cervus and so forth. The stone artifacts could be sorted as cores, flakes, scrapers, end-scrapers, points, burin and etc. Its age would belong to late pleistocene supported by paleontological and cultural remains. The characteristics of the artifacts is similar to those from Ma'anshan site in north side of the hill of Ma'anshan. Human, fossil teeth, which include left I1, right M3, right M1 and right dM1, are similar to those of late Homo sapiens in morphology.
