The field experiments of different seeding dates of sweet corn variety“Shentian No.1”were carried out during 2000～2001. The results showed that the appropriate direct seeding time in the open field for the variety “Shentian No.1”planted in Shanghai area was between the first ten days of April and the middle ten days of August.
