摘要
翻译和外语学习都是跨语言文化的交际活动 ,从这个意义上说二者有着本质上的联系。通过翻译学习外语可以使学习者在源语和译语、本族语和外语两种语言文化的对比中更好地掌握它们之间的差异 。
Translation and foreign language learning are interrelated to each other in that both are interlingual and intercultural activities. In translation one purposefully makes a contrast between source and target languages, and the cultures related to them. This contrast enables the translator to have a better understanding of the differences between the two languages and cultures, which is essential to appropriate translation. In learning a foreign language, one also needs a good understanding of both one's mother tongue and the foreign language and their cultures. Therefore learning a foreign language through translation benefits the learner in that he understands the foreign language and its culture and learns to use the language in a better way.
