Introduces the head loss analysis technique of sump strainer, including simplifying the model reasonably, establishing a series of models to judge the relationship of head loss and the filter hole number, and simulating the blocking condition by conservative assumptions. The rationality of this anal-ysis method is verified by the theoretical calculating results and the similar product’s type test results. This head loss analysis technology can help rapid and rational design and reducing the risk of type test of nuclear sump strainers, which belong to the non standard product.
