摘要
转喻与隐喻同为日常言语中普遍的语言现象 ,对话语的理解和生成起着极为重要的作用。从认知语言学和语用学的角度出发 ,本文认为 ,转喻是基于人类经验的概念性的认知方式 ,概念转喻在转喻表达中具有极大的生成作用。本文分析了Thornburg和Panther的言语行为转喻 。
This paper proposes a new approach to the understanding of metonymy, calling attention to the conceptual functions and the various speech acts that metonymic expressions habitually perform, and arguing that metonymy could better be seen as a cognitively and pragmatically motivated mode of language. 〔Key terms〕 conceptual metonymy; speech act metonymy; scenario; optimal relevance; pragmatic function
