在代谢协同作用的研究中,哺乳动物的晶状体在器官水平对裂隙连接与细胞间通讯的作用是惟一的。晶状体无血管,依赖高度发达的由裂隙连接介导的细胞间通讯网络来调控其离子和代谢物的交换。细胞质中的pH、细胞内Ca^(2+)的浓度及蛋白质磷酸化可调控裂隙连接的通透性。连接蛋白的表达和构象的改变影响裂隙连接的通透性,从而改变细胞间通讯。目前认为裂隙连接在晶状体细胞的营养、代谢和保持晶状体透明性中起关键作用。
In investigation of metabolism cooperation, lens of mammal is singular for the investigation of gap junction and intercellular communication in the level of organ. Lens is avascular and it adjust the exchange of ion and metabolite depending on intercellular communication net mediated by height developed gap junction. Cytoplasmic pH, intracellular calcium concentration and protein phosphorylation have been shown to regulate gap junctional permeability. Expression and aerial image of connexins in lens cells will affect gap junctional permeability and alter intercellular communication. Gap junction is thought to play a critical role for the nutrition, metabolsm and transparency of lens.
