摘要
本文介绍和评论了当代英国著名学者盖尔纳的民族理论。盖尔纳在工业文明区别于农业文明的诸特征中发现了现代政治民族主义的秘密。他将民族主义的实质问题理解为民族主义时代出现的根源问题 ,并将其归结为工业文明对社会同质性的要求。盖尔纳的理论是学术界中将现代社会和民族主义的关系讲得最透彻。
This paper introduces and analyzes the nation theory of contemporary British scholar Gellner who discovered the secretes of modern political Nationalism from the differences between industrial civilization and agricultural civilization. Gellner believes that the era of Nationalism is brought about by the core elements of Nationalism, and it is the result of industrial civilization that requires the homogeneity of society. Gellner’s theory is the most penetrating and logical theory that explains the relation between modern society and Nationalism in academic circle.
