摘要 很久以来人们都接受这样一种观点:中国学生创造能力逊于美国学生,但基础知识的扎实却远强于后者。 然而,国际数学大师丘成桐却给了自我感觉良好的中国人当头一棒:“这都是多少年来可怕的自我麻醉!我不认为中国学生的基础知识学得有多好!” 诺贝尔奖获得者杨振宁则认为:中国与美国是两种截然不同的教育制度。中国学生的根基非常扎实,这是优点,但也有缺点,中国的学生面对新事物总有畏缩心理,与美国学生比起来,创新意识较差。中国传统的教育体制没有完全改变的必要。 那么中美教育的差别究竟在哪里呢?到底是大学教育有差距,还是从一开始两个国家就是两种不同的教育理念呢?请看“对比中美基础教育”一文。 For a long time people have accepted this point of view: American students are more creative than Chinese students; but Chinese students gain a much better command of fundamental knowledge. Recently this popularly acknowledged view was denied by the famous mathematician Shing-Tung Yau: 'I don't think the Chinese students acquire a good command of fundamental knowledge.' Nobel Prize Laureate, Mr. Chen-Ning Yang, has a different view: ' Chinese students do a very good job in learning fundamental knowledge, but they are afraid to face new things and they are less creative than American students.'
