The “Buddhist-style” lifestyle was widely spread on the Internet at the end of 2017 and attracted the attention of all walks of life. The “Buddhist-style” youth shows that facing the tension between “good life” and social speed, some young people choose a “Buddhist-style” to escape and relieve themselves. The social acceleration theory put forward by German sociologist Hartmut Rosa inherited the tradition of Frankfurt School’s social criticism, and on this basis, it focused on exploring the reasons why people feel unhappy in today’s society. By establishing “unrelated relationships”, that is a resonant way to resist the new alienation in the context of social acceleration. Therefore, Hartmut Rosa’s social acceleration theory can be used to explain the generation logic of the “Buddhist-style” youth group, so as to provide timely guidance to the “Buddhist-style” youth group.
