Taking the subtitle translation project of Black Books as an example, this paper analyzes the subtitle translation of humorous elements in the sitcom Black Books from the per?spective of functional equivalence theory, combining the characteristics of British comedies, explains how humor in sitcoms tran?scends regional, cultural and linguistic barriers to make the target audience feel the effect of humor in sitcoms, and provides cor?responding subtitle translation strategies. Through this research, the author hopes to achieve the transmission effect of humor, op?timize the viewing experience of the target language audience to a certain extent, and promote cultural exchanges.展开更多
