The EPCs in bone marrow will participate in the internal circulation in a body sub- jected to the stimulation by external factors such as injury, ischemia or drug. EPCs regulate the angiogenic switch via paracrine secretion of proangiogenic growth factors and by direct luminal incorporation into sprouting nascent vessels. Therefore, this paper reviews the sources, isolation and culture of EPCs, the factors influencing the proliferation and activity of EPCs, and the roles of EPCs in angiogenesis.展开更多
