Promoting the construction of “curriculum ideology and politics” in marine courses is an important guarantee for cultivating high-quality and all-round marine professionals with both moral integrity and professional competence. This article takes the general basic course of marine science—Introduction to Marine Science—as an example, starting from the ideological and political teaching objectives, combined with the characteristics of oceanography, systematically summarizes the ideological and political goals and requirements of the course in terms of patriotism, scientific spirit, willpower, environmental awareness, and sustainable development concept. It elaborates on the excavation and extraction of ideological and political materials around these ideological and political goals, and explains the teaching methods of combining ideological and political teaching with professional content, multimedia teaching, online teaching, and case teaching, which can provide reference and inspiration for the ideological and political education reform of marine courses in universities under the new situation.展开更多
