Department of Ophthalmology,Daping Hospital,The third Military Medical University,Chongqing 400042 To study the methods of determining the centre of laser ablation zone,the decentration degree and its control in laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK).TOMEY2 Corneal Topographical Maps Analysis System was used to determine the direction and the distance of the decentration of the laser ablation zone.In 331 eyes,the fixation light spot was moved 03mm towards the temporal side of the center of the entrance pupil and 03mm downward.As a control,the center of the entrance pupil was used as the center of the ablation zone to put on the fixation light spot in 233 eyes.Three months after operation,the mean decentration amount was 058mm±032mm in the control group(721% slanted to the upper nose side)and 039mm±026mm in the test group.Comparing with the control group,the difference of ratio in every direction reduced notably in the test group.The differences between the two groups were significant(P<001).The ratio of decentration amount within 05mm were 300% and 710% respectively in the control group and the test group,the difference begin significant too(P<0001).Moving the fixation light spot from the entrance pupil centre to temporal side and downward 03mm respectively can partially and effectively solve the decentration problem in LASIK.
