Objective;To evaluate the efficacy and safety of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine (TCM-WM)on treatment of urinary tract infection in diabetes mellitus.Methods:Ninety-three diabetes mellitus patients...Objective;To evaluate the efficacy and safety of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine (TCM-WM)on treatment of urinary tract infection in diabetes mellitus.Methods:Ninety-three diabetes mellitus patients with urinary tract infection were divided randomly into two groups,48 patients in TCM-WM group were treated with Tonglin decoction and levofloxacin.45 patients in western medicine (WM) group were treated with levofloxacin alone.Results:The overall clinical efficacy rates were 93.75% for TCM-WM group and 77.78% for WM group,the difference of clinical effect between two groups was significant (P<0.05),whereas the bacterial eradication rates were 89.5% and 76.5%,respectively.Conclusion:The effect of TCM-WM was better than that of western medicine alone in treating urinary tract infection in diabetes mellitus.展开更多
