The Hanjingtang Hall site is a ruined building complex on a water-surrounded island in the Yuanmingyuan Palace. It covers an area of over 60,000 sq m, of which above 30,000 sq m are occupied by building vestiges. Ther...The Hanjingtang Hall site is a ruined building complex on a water-surrounded island in the Yuanmingyuan Palace. It covers an area of over 60,000 sq m, of which above 30,000 sq m are occupied by building vestiges. There were more than 30 building units, which formed a residential palace of Qianlong, an emperor in the prosperous reigns of the Qing Dynasty. Excavation clarified that the south of the site was a square; the middle, the main pavilion and its yard; and the north, the rear living place.They were laid out in west - east rows with the central axis pointing to the north and south. Nearly 1,000 cultural relics have been unearthed from the site. The excavation brought to light firsthand data on the architectural pattern, size, structural features and evolution of the Hall. These constitute a batch of reliable material evidence for the preservation and utilization of the site. Meanwhile, the work provided seeking experience for protecting the sites of other sights in the Yuanminyuan Palace.展开更多
