Both long-term environmental durability and high reflectance of protected-Al mirrors are of great importance for developing the optical instruments in the vacuum ultraviolet(VUV) applications. In this paper, the dependence of spectral property and environmental durability of MgF2 over-coated Al mirrors using a 3-step method on deposition temperature of the outermost MgF2 layer are investigated in detail. Optics(reflectance), structure(surface morphology and crystalline), and environmental durability(humidity test) are characterized and discussed. The results show that both optical and moistureresistant properties of MgF2 over-coated Al mirrors are dependent on MgF2 deposition temperature, and the optimal deposition temperature for the outermost MgF2 layer should be between 250℃ and 300℃ for MgF2 over-coated Al mirrors to have both reasonably high reflectance in the VUV spectral range and high moisture resistance for long lifetime applications. 展开更多

This study investigates the major patterns of large-scale tilted ridges(LSTRS)over the Eurasian continent and their connections with large-scale surface air temperature during boreal winter.A total number of 134 LSTR events with zonal extent exceeding 90°of longitude on the peak day are identified.Using self-organizing map(SOM),the LSTRs are classified into five clusters that are characterized by different spatial distributions and orientations.The leading two clusters are closely associated with extensive and persistent cold events over different places.Considering the first cluster,LSTRs extend from the Ural Mountains to Northeast Asia and are favorable for the amplification and southeastward extension of the Siberian high.Therefore,this cluster is closely associated with the occurrence of extensive and persistent cold events in china.In comparison with the first cluster,the LSTRs of second group are situated to the west,with starting points from the Kola Peninsula,and cause extensive and persistent cold events over Eastern Europe,central Asia,and central Siberia.The results suggest that the vertical coupling between LSTRs and the corresponding anomalous sea level pressure is crucial for the persistent cold temperature events associated with the leading two SOM clusters. 展开更多

A so called semi quadratic YF is proposed to eliminate time consuming numerical calculation and avoid the decrease of prediction precision. The poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG, with Mw 2000)-urea inclusion compound (IC) crystallized at high temperature region showed two typical orientations, flat-on and edge-on crystals. 2D-XRD and polarized FTIR spectroscopy revealed that the PEG chains within urea channels were perpendicular to the substrate in fiat-on oriented crystals, while PEG chain axes were parallel to the substrate and lay along the growth direction in the edge-on crystals. FT1R absorption bands of PEG in the ICs are sensitive to orientation of the crystals. A scheme of PEG chain packing in the urea IC channel was proposed, which could explain the orientation of the crystal nucleus causing the two types of morphologies. Furthermore, functioning of PEG2000 chain end with analine had significantly influence on the morphology and orientation of the inclusion compound crystals, due to the defects caused by large terminal groups included in the urea channel. 展开更多
