AIM:To evaluate the effects of intravitreal slow-release dexamethasone on traumatic proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR)and Müller cell gliosis and preliminarily explored the possible inflammatory mechanism in a ...AIM:To evaluate the effects of intravitreal slow-release dexamethasone on traumatic proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR)and Müller cell gliosis and preliminarily explored the possible inflammatory mechanism in a rabbit model induced by penetrating ocular trauma.METHODS:Traumatic PVR was induced in the right eyes of pigmented rabbits by performing an 8-mm circumferential scleral incision placed 2.5 mm behind the limbus,followed by treatment with a slow-release dexamethasone implant(Ozurdex)or sham injection.Left eyes were used as normal controls.The intraocular pressure(IOP)was monitored using an iCare tonometer.PVR severity was evaluated via anatomical and histopathological examinations every week for 6wk;specific inflammatory cytokine and proliferative marker levels were measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction,Western blot,protein chip analysis,or immunofluorescence staining.RESULTS:During the observation period,PVR severity gradually increased.Intense Müller cell gliosis was observed in the peripheral retina near the wound and in the whole retina of PVR group.Ozurdex significantly alleviated PVR development and Müller cell gliosis.Post-traumatic inflammation fluctuated and was persistent.The interleukin-1β(IL-1β)mRNA level was significantly upregulated,peaking on day 3 and increasing again on day 21 after injury.The expression of nod-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3)showed a similar trend that began earlier than that of IL-1βexpression.Ozurdex suppressed the expression of IL-1β,NLRP3,and phosphorylated nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB).The average IOP after treatment was within normal limits.CONCLUSION:The present study demonstrates chronic and fluctuating inflammation in a traumatic PVR rabbit model over 6wk.Ozurdex treatment significantly inhibites inflammatory cytokines expression and Müller cell gliosis,and thus alleviates PVR severity.This study highlights the important role of IL-1β,and Ozurdex inhibites inflammation presumably via the NF-κB/NLRP3/IL-1βinflammatory axis.In summary,Ozurdex provides a potential therapeutic option for traumatic PVR.展开更多

The battery model is the basis of battery monitoring, efficient charging, and safety management. Non-linearmo...Lithium-ion batteries are considered the substantial electrical storage element for electric vehicles(EVs). The battery model is the basis of battery monitoring, efficient charging, and safety management. Non-linearmodelling is the key to representing the battery and its dynamic internal parameters and performance. This paperproposes a smart scheme to model the lithium-polymer ion battery while monitoring its present charging currentand terminal voltage at various ambient conditions (temperature and relative humidity). Firstly, the suggestedframework investigated the impact of temperature and relative humidity on the charging process using the constantcurrent-constant voltage (CC-CV) charging protocol. This will be followed by monitoring the battery at thesurrounding operating temperature and relative humidity. Hence, efficient non-linear modelling of the EV batterydynamic behaviour using the Hammerstein-Wiener (H-W) model is implemented. The H-W model is considered ablack box model that can represent the battery without any mathematical equivalent circuit model which reducesthe computation complexity. Finally, the model beholds the boundaries of the charging process, not affecting onthe lifetime of the battery. Several dynamic models are applied and tested experimentally to ensure theeffectiveness of the proposed scheme under various ambient conditions where the temperature is fixed at40°C and the relative humidity (RH) at 35%, 52%, and 70%. The best fit using the H-W model reached 91.83% todescribe the dynamic behaviour of the battery with a maximum percentage of error 0.1 V which is in goodagreement with the literature survey. Besides, the model has been scaled up to represent a real EV and expressedthe significance of the proposed H-W model.展开更多

Six line segments(covering 30°) were drawn 4mm away from the limbus on each image using ImageJ software. The graph peaks,which were derived from the areas under the line segments and corresponded to the cross-sectional grey-level of the vessels,were analyzed to obtain peak area,peak height/width(PH/PW),and peak numbers. Different-sized areas were selected to calculate the pixels based on the edge-detection algorithm. Also,conjunctival and superficial scleral vessels were analyzed separately. ·RESULTS: This method had a smaller coefficient of variation,especially for PH/PW,in all four orientations. Hyperaemia parameters changed the least after challenging in the superior region. Moreover,95% of the PH/PW ratios were greater than 0.87 in conjunctival vessels and less than 1.00 in superficial scleral vessels. PH/PW significantly increased in conjunctival vessels and changed less in superficial scleral vessels. ·CONCLUSION: A new method of objectively assessing bulbar injection based on ocular surface images was developed. AIM:To investigate the effect of Staphylococcus aureus(S.aures)lysates(SALs)on herpes simplex virus type-Ⅰ(HSV1)infection in human corneal epithelial(HCE)cells and in a mouse model of HSV1 keratitis.METHODS:HCE,Vero,...AIM:To investigate the effect of Staphylococcus aureus(S.aures)lysates(SALs)on herpes simplex virus type-Ⅰ(HSV1)infection in human corneal epithelial(HCE)cells and in a mouse model of HSV1 keratitis.METHODS:HCE,Vero,HeLa,and BV2 cells were infected with HSV1[HSV1f strain,HSV1f;HSV-1-H129 with green fluorescent protein(GFP)knock-in,HSV1g].Pre-or post-infection,SAL at various concentrations was added to the culture medium for 24 h.GFP fluorescence in HSV1g or plaque formation by HSV1f were examined.The effects of heat-treated SAL,precooled acetone-precipitated SAL,and SAL subjected to ultrafiltration(100 kDa)were evaluated.The effects of other bacterial components and lysates on HSV1 infection were also tested,including lipoteichoic acid(LTA),peptidoglycan(PGN),staphylococcal protein A(SPA),andα-hemolysin from S.aureus(α-toxin)as well as lysates from a wild-type S.aureus strain,S.epidermidis,and Escherichia coli(W-SAL,SEL,and ECL,respectively).In addition,SAL eye drops were applied topically to BALB/c mice with HSV1 keratitis,followed by in vivo observations.RESULTS:The cytopathic effect,plaque formation(HSV1f),and GFP expression(HSV1g)in infected cells were inhibited by SAL in a dose-dependent manner.The active component of SAL(≥100 kDa)was heat-sensitive and retained activity after acetone precipitation.In HSV1ginfected cells,treatment with LTA-sa,α-toxin,PGN-sa,or SPA did not inhibit GFP expression.SAL,W-SAL,and SEL(but not ECL)decreased GFP expression.In mice with HSV1 keratitis,SAL reduced corneal lesions by 71%.CONCLUSION:The results of this study demonstrate that SAL can be used to inhibit HSV1 infection,particularly keratitis.Further studies are needed to determine the active components and mechanism underlying the effects of SAL.展开更多

Diatomic site catalysts(DACs)with two adjacent atomic metal species can provide synergistic interactions and more sophisticated functionalities to break the bottleneck of intrinsic drawbacks of single atom catalysts(S...Diatomic site catalysts(DACs)with two adjacent atomic metal species can provide synergistic interactions and more sophisticated functionalities to break the bottleneck of intrinsic drawbacks of single atom catalysts(SACs).Herein,we have designed a CuZn diatomic site(CuZn-DAS)electrocatalyst with unique coordination structure(CuN_(4)-ZnN_(4))by anchoring and ordering the spatial distance between the metal precursors on the carbon nitride(C_(3)N_(4))derived N-doped carbon(NC)substrate.The CuZn-DAS/NC shows high activity and selectivity for electroreduction CO_(2)into CO.The Faradaic efficiency for CO of CuZn-DAS/NC(98.4%)is higher than that of Cu single atomic site on NC(Cu-SAS/NC)(36.4%)and Zn single atomic site on NC(Zn-SAS/NC)(66.8%)at-0.6 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(vs.RHE).In situ characterizations reveal that the CuZn-DAS is more favorable for the formation and adsorption of^(*)COOH than those of the electrocatalysts with single atomic site.Theorical calculations show that the charge redistribution of Zn site in CuZn-DAS/NC caused by the considerable electron transfers from Zn atoms to the adjacent Cu atoms can reduce the adsorption energy barriers for^(*)COOH and^(*)CO production,improving the activity and CO selectivity.展开更多

In search of effective and stable bifunctional electrocatalyst for electrocatalytic water splitting is still a major challenge for the highly efficient H_(2) production.Here,we reported a facile strategy to design hig...In search of effective and stable bifunctional electrocatalyst for electrocatalytic water splitting is still a major challenge for the highly efficient H_(2) production.Here,we reported a facile strategy to design high-indexed Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7) nanoparticles(NPs)in situ synthesized on the three-dimensional(3D)carbon nanofibers(CNFs)by combining electrospinning and chemical vapor deposition(CVD)technology.The high-index facets with abundant active sites,the 3D architecture CNFs with high specific surface area and synergistic effect of Cu-Pd-S bonds with strong electron couplings together promote the elec-trocatalytic performance.The Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7)/CNFs shows excellent electrocatalytic activity with low overpotentials of 52 mV(10 mA cm^(−2))for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and 240 mV(10 mA cm^(−2))for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).The excellent protection of Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7) by CNFs from aggregation and electrolyte corrosion lead to the high stability of Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7)/CNFs under acidic and alkaline conditions.展开更多

文摘In view of the problems found in the in-depth interviews of the current situation of rural non-point source pollution control mechanism in Nantong City and their reasons,the following six countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,including giving full play to the role of fighting bastion of the Party branch and building a mechanism for Party building to lead the control of non-point source pollution in rural areas,giving prominence to the dominant role of farmers and establishing farmers’endogenous motivation excitation mechanism for rural non-point source pollution control,improving the interest coordination mechanism among multiple governance subjects and building a modern control system for rural non-point source pollution,combining regulations,administrative,economic,technical and other means of rural non-point source pollution control and strengthening the synergistic integration mechanism of multiple means of control,reconstructing the information disclosure mechanism of rural non-point source pollution control and building a comprehensive trust mechanism of multiple control subjects,and improving the mechanism for coordinating the supply of policy tools and ensure that basic mechanisms play their due role.

文摘Let G be a finite group generated by S and C(G,S) the Cayley digraphs of G with connection set S.In this paper,we give some sufficient conditions for the existence of hamiltonian circuit in C(G,S),where G=Zm×H is a semiproduct of Zmby a subgroup H of G.In particular,if m is a prime,then the Cayley digraph of G has a hamiltonian circuit unless G=Zm×H.In addition,we introduce a new digraph operation,called φ-semiproduct of Γ1by Γ2and denoted by Γ1×Γ_φΓ2,in terms of mapping φ:V(Γ2)→{1,-1}.Furthermore we prove that C(Zm,{a})×_φ C(H,S) is also a Cayley digraph if φ is a homomorphism from H to{1,-1} ≤ Zm~*,which produces some classes of Cayley digraphs that have hamiltonian circuits.

文摘Diatomic site catalysts(DACs)with two adjacent atomic metal species can provide synergistic interactions and more sophisticated functionalities to break the bottleneck of intrinsic drawbacks of single atom catalysts(SACs).Herein,we have designed a CuZn diatomic site(CuZn-DAS)electrocatalyst with unique coordination structure(CuN_(4)-ZnN_(4))by anchoring and ordering the spatial distance between the metal precursors on the carbon nitride(C_(3)N_(4))derived N-doped carbon(NC)substrate.The CuZn-DAS/NC shows high activity and selectivity for electroreduction CO_(2)into CO.The Faradaic efficiency for CO of CuZn-DAS/NC(98.4%)is higher than that of Cu single atomic site on NC(Cu-SAS/NC)(36.4%)and Zn single atomic site on NC(Zn-SAS/NC)(66.8%)at-0.6 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(vs.RHE).In situ characterizations reveal that the CuZn-DAS is more favorable for the formation and adsorption of^(*)COOH than those of the electrocatalysts with single atomic site.Theorical calculations show that the charge redistribution of Zn site in CuZn-DAS/NC caused by the considerable electron transfers from Zn atoms to the adjacent Cu atoms can reduce the adsorption energy barriers for^(*)COOH and^(*)CO production,improving the activity and CO selectivity.

文摘调控催化剂表面的化学键来平衡表面水分子的吸附和分解对于碱性溶液中水分解至关重要.本研究提出一种通过原位界面工程来设计与合成表面具有丰富的Ni-W金属键的Ni2W4C-W3C Janus异质结构的简便策略.预先将金属离子均匀分散在纳米纤维中,在碳化过程中,以电纺纤维为反应器,金属盐首先被还原成Ni和W3C.在持续分解的过程中,Ni原子原位插入W3C晶体中形成新的Ni2W4C相,得到Ni2W4C-W3C Janus异质结构.这使得W3C中原本惰性的W原子成为Ni2W4C中的活性位点.Ni2W4C-W3C/碳纳米纤维可以直接作为电极材料,其在碱性电解液中析氢活性达到10 m A/cm^2的电流密度需要63 m V过电位,析氧活性达到30 m A/cm^2的电流密度需要270 m V的过电位.若同时用作阴极和阳极进行全解水性能研究,其电池电压分别需要1.55和1.87 V就达到10和100 m A/cm^2.密度泛函理论结果表明,Ni与W之间的强相互作用增强了W原子的局域电子态.Ni2W4C为H-OH键的裂解提供了活性位点,W3C促进了Hads中间体与H2分子的结合.原位电化学拉曼光谱的结果表明该材料对水分子和羟基具有很强的吸收能力,W原子是真正的反应活性位点.该方法为构建高效电解水催化材料提供了另一种思路.

文摘A graph G is {K 1,4,K 1,4 + e}-free if G contains no induced subgraph isomorphic to K 1,4 or K 1,4 + e.In this paper,we show that G has a path which is either hamiltonian or of length at least 2δ(G) + 2 if G is a connected {K 1,4,K 1,4 + e}-free graph on at least 7 vertices.

文摘In search of effective and stable bifunctional electrocatalyst for electrocatalytic water splitting is still a major challenge for the highly efficient H_(2) production.Here,we reported a facile strategy to design high-indexed Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7) nanoparticles(NPs)in situ synthesized on the three-dimensional(3D)carbon nanofibers(CNFs)by combining electrospinning and chemical vapor deposition(CVD)technology.The high-index facets with abundant active sites,the 3D architecture CNFs with high specific surface area and synergistic effect of Cu-Pd-S bonds with strong electron couplings together promote the elec-trocatalytic performance.The Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7)/CNFs shows excellent electrocatalytic activity with low overpotentials of 52 mV(10 mA cm^(−2))for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and 240 mV(10 mA cm^(−2))for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).The excellent protection of Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7) by CNFs from aggregation and electrolyte corrosion lead to the high stability of Cu_(3)Pd_(13)_S_(7)/CNFs under acidic and alkaline conditions.
