Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of Jingui Shengqi Pill (金匮肾气丸, JSP) in treating partial androgen deficiency in aging males (PADAM), and to explore the new approach in improving the quality of l...Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of Jingui Shengqi Pill (金匮肾气丸, JSP) in treating partial androgen deficiency in aging males (PADAM), and to explore the new approach in improving the quality of life in PADAM patients. Methods: Forty patients with PADAM were treated with JSP, the efficacy was evaluated with international index of erectile function (IIEF) scoring, PADAM questionnaire scoring, hormone, prostatic specific antigen (PSA), etc., and the data before treatment were compared with those after treatment in the same group. Results: After 3 months of treatment, PADAM scoring and IIEF scoring were all significantly improved. Symptoms regarding physical ability, vasomotion, and psychical and mental condition all got improved more markedly than symptoms regarding sexual hypofunction. The serum level of testosterone was 3.85±0.36 before treatment and 5.02±0.83 after treatmnet (P〈0.05); luteinizing hormone of 7.33±2.14 and 4.84±1.43 (P〈0.01), follicule-stimulating hormone of 10.22±4.48 and 6.47±3.28 (P〈0.01), respectively. The level of PSA failed to change significantly (1.94±0.55 and 2.06±0.47, P〉0.05). Conclusion: JSP is effective and safe in treating PADAM, the mechanism of it is different from supplementing extrinsic androgen. It may have produced the effect by means of favorably regulating the condition of sex hormone to improve the balance of pituitary-sex gland axis, so it has more extensive clinical application.展开更多

Methods: The randomized, single blinded, parallel p...Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Penyanqing Capsule (盆炎清胶囊, PYQC) in treating pelvic inflammation of Qi-stagnation with blood stasis syndrome. Methods: The randomized, single blinded, parallel positive drug controlled method was adopted, with 82 patients assigned into two groups by envelop method. The 42 patients in the treated group received PYQC 3 times a day, 4 capsules each time taken orally; the 40 patients in the control group were given orally Fuyankang tablets (妇炎康片, FYKT) 3 times a day, 6 tablets each time. The therapeutic course for both groups was 2 months, and 2 courses of treatment were given successively to observe the comprehensive effect, changes of symptoms and signs before and after treatment. The effects of PYQC on hemorrheological character in part of the patients and on the pathogenetic chlamydia and mycoplasma were also observed. Results: The total effective rate in the treated group was 83.3%, which was insignificantly different from that in the control group (77.5%, P〉0.05). However, PYQC could significantly lower the hemorrheologic indexes in patients and showed definite influence on the pathogenetic chlamydia and mycoplasma. Conclusion: PYQC has good therapeutic effect in treating chronic pelvic inflammation of Qi-stagnation with blood stasis syndrome, and showed definite effect on chlamydia and mycoplasma.展开更多

Through experiment and simulation, the analysis of chaotic HPS in the detected signal was done. The result shows a length 40 list is adequate for a 4×4 16QAM MIMO system without system-level iteration. For the ergodic channel, the gain of a sphere detector over the linear MMSE detector is dependent on channel coding rate, which answers an important question when sphere detector should he used in system level design. The emis...The photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of Eu^3+ and Li^+ co-doped ZnO PL materials against heat-treatment temperature were discussed. The PL xerogel and powder samples were prepared by solgel process. The emission spectra of all samples showed two broad bands peaking at 590 nm and 620 nm under UV-Vis excitation. But the relative intensity of red PL (620 nm) was much greater than that of green PL (590 nm) of the same sample, that s to say, the red color was the main luminescence. With heat-treatment temperature increase, the two kinds of colors PL intensity decreased, and both the red and green PL intensity of the xerogel samples was much greater than those of powder samples respectively. The XRD patterns revealed that Eu^3+ ions were successfully incorporated in ZnO crystals in xerogel samples. When heat-treatment temperature reached 350 ℃, the Eu^3+ began to separate out of the ZnO crystals and Eu2O3 crystals came into being. When the powder sample was subjected to UV-Vis excitation, the energy transfered from the host ZnO emission to Eu^3+ became weaker than the xerogel sample.展开更多

Methods: The patients with different types...Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Jianpi Bushen recipe (YQJPBS, 益气健脾补肾方) in antagonizing nephrotoxicity and hematological toxicity by cisplatin (CDDP). Methods: The patients with different types of carcinomas were divided into two groups. One group was treated by western medicine (WM), i.e. cisplatin combined with diuretic therapy. The other group by Chinese medicine (CM). One day before chemotherapy, YQJPBS was given orally. Urinary enzyme (NAG, γ-GT, ALP) and serum erythropoietin (Epo) were used as the key monitoring indicator. Results: The early renal damage by CDDP remains near proximal convoluted tubule, which leads to the rising of urinary enzyme. So urinary enzyme of the CM group was obviously lower than that of the WM group. The lesion of renal interstitial cells that produce Epo did not cause the serum Epo of WM group to rise obviously 15 days later. As a result there was 40% patients whose RBC and Hb became lower than the standard count. While serum Epo of CM group was higher than that of WM group, only 5% patients in the CM group had their RBC and Hb lowered. Conclusion: YQJPBS can effectively antagonize nephrotoxicity and hematological toxicity induced by CDDP.展开更多

Methods Riboflavin-light system was...Objective To study the activity of Puerarin (Pue) in scavenging oxygen free radical (OFR) and its inhibitory effect on the oxidative modification of low density lipoprotein (LDL). Methods Riboflavin-light system was used to generate superoxide anion, and Fenton reaction to generate hydroxyl free radical to study the activity of Pue in scavenging OFR. Hydrogen peroxide-induced hemolysis was used to study the effect of Pue on erythrocyte hemolysis and malondialdehyde (MDA) production. And ultraviolet ray and cupric sulfate were used to cause the oxidative modification of LDL for studying the inhibitory effect of Pue on LDL oxidative modification. Results (1) Pue could, at concentration of 0. 01 – 1.0 mmol/L, scavenge superoxide anion radical and at concentration of 7.5–75μmol/L scavenge hydroxyl radical in a concentration dependent manner. (2) Pue could, at concentration of 0.1–10 mmol/L, inhibit significantly oxidative hemolysis and MDA production of erythrocyte induced by hydrogen peroxide. (3) Pue of 0.01–1.0 mmol/L could inhibit the oxidative modification of LDL in a concentration dependent manner. Conclusion Pue has an anti-peroxidation effect and shows a potential effect in preventing atherosclerosis.展开更多
