Tartary buckwheatgrowing in acidic soil may suffer from Al poisoning. Here, we investigated the influence of Al stress on the growthof tartary buckwheat seedling roots, and the alleviation of Al stress by silicon (Si), as has been demonstrated inmany crops. Under Al stress, root growth (total root length, primary root length, root tips, root surface area, androot volume) was significantly inhibited, and Al and malondialdehyde (MDA) accumulated in the root tips. At thesame time, catalase (CAT) and ascorbate peroxidase activities, polyphenols, flavonoids, and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) and 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS) free-radical scavenging abilitywere significantly decreased. After the application of Si, root growth, Al accumulation, and oxidative damage wereimproved. Compared to Al-treated seedlings, the contents of ·O2− and MDA decreased by 29.39% and 25.22%,respectively. This was associated with Si-induced increases in peroxidase and CAT enzyme activity, flavonoidcompounds, and free-radical scavenging (DPPH and ABTS). Object:The aim is to evaluate how effective Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is in treating patients who have central retinal vein occlusion with macular edema(CRVO-ME)in a real-world study.Furthermore,the objective o...Object:The aim is to evaluate how effective Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is in treating patients who have central retinal vein occlusion with macular edema(CRVO-ME)in a real-world study.Furthermore,the objective of the research was to examine the TCM prescription trends in the management of CRVO-ME.Method:A single-center real-world study(RWS)was carried out over a span of 19 years,following the established design.The study encompassed 113 patients diagnosed with CRVO-ME.Out of these,74 patients received TCM treatment,while the remaining individuals underwent a combined therapy involving TCM and anti-VEGF drugs through intravitreal injection.The patients were matched using propensity score matching(PSM).The result measured in the RWS was BCVA.The oral prescriptions for CRVO-ME that led to observable and effective outcomes were collected.Excel and the TCM Inheritance Auxiliary Platform V2.5 were utilized to optimize mutual information,hierarchical clustering based on entropy,and other techniques to extract medication regulations and features.Result:After applying PSM,each group comprised 29 cases.Both groups exhibited improved BCVA following treatment;however,there was no statistically significant distinction in BCVA or effectiveness between the two groups(all P>0.05).Apart from the analysis of oral prescriptions for CRVO-ME,the investigation pinpointed the most frequently used TCMs,namely Flos Carthami,Semen Persicae,Radix Angelica sinensis,Radix Rehmanniae,and Radix et Rhizoma Notoginseng.Frequently utilized medications tended to possess cold,warm,or mild attributes and exhibited a taste profile that was either bitter or sweet.The primary meridians associated with the medicines employed in treating CRVO-ME were liver,spleen,stomach,heart,and lung.Through the application of association rule analysis,it was discerned that there were 195 commonly employed combinations of medicines.Additionally,a complex system entropy cluster analysis unveiled 13 key combinations of medicines.By employing an unsupervised entropy hierarchical clustering analysis,a novel prescription was formulated.Conclusion:Within a real-world population of CRVO-ME patients,TCM exhibited its effectiveness.The treatment approach for CRVO-ME predominantly involved the regulation of qi(Qi is an exceedingly subtle substance within the human body,brimming with vitality and ceaseless motion.It constitutes the fundamental element that shapes and sustains the various processes of human life.)and blood as well as the resolution of dampness.The oral prescriptions frequently targeted the meridians of liver,spleen,stomach,heart,and lungs.展开更多
An effective quality control system is the key to ensuring the quality, safety and efficacy of traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs). However, the current quality standard research lacks top-level design and systematic ...An effective quality control system is the key to ensuring the quality, safety and efficacy of traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs). However, the current quality standard research lacks top-level design and systematic design,mostly based on specific technologies or evaluation methods. To resolve the challenges and questions of quality control of TCMs, a brand-new quality standard system, named "iVarious", was proposed. The system comprises eight elements in a modular format. Meaning of every element was specifically illustrated via corresponding research instances. Furthermore, frankincense study was taken as an example for demonstrating standards and research process, based on the "i Various" system. This system highlighted a holistic strategy for effectiveness,security, integrity and systematization of quality and safety control standards of TCMs. The establishment of"i Various" integrates multi-disciplinary technologies and progressive methods, basis elements and key points of standard construction. BACKGROUND Hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma(HEAML) is a rare liver disease and is easily misdiagnosed. Enhanced recognition of HEAML is beneficial to the differential diagnosis of rare liver diseases.CASE SUMMARY We...BACKGROUND Hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma(HEAML) is a rare liver disease and is easily misdiagnosed. Enhanced recognition of HEAML is beneficial to the differential diagnosis of rare liver diseases.CASE SUMMARY We presented two cases of HEAML in Changzheng Hospital, Naval Medical University, and then collected and analyzed all reports about HEAML recorded in PubMed, MEDLINE, China Science Periodical Database, and VIP database from January 2000 to March 2018. A total of 409 cases of HEAML in 97 reports were collected, with a ratio of men to women of 1:4.84 and an age range from 12 years to 80 years(median 44 years). Among the patients with clinical symptoms mentioned, 61.93%(205/331) were asymptomatic, 34.74%(115/331) showed upper or right upper quadrant abdomen discomfort, while a few of them showed abdominal mass, gastrointestinal symptoms, low fever, or weight loss. The misdiagnosis rate of HEAML was as high as 40.34%(165/409) due to its nonspecific imaging findings. Most of the tumors were solitary and round in morphology, with clear boundaries. Ultrasound scan indicated low echo with internal nonuniformity and rich blood supply in most cases. Computer tomography/magnetic resonance imaging enhanced scan showed varied characteristics. The ratio of fast wash-in and fast wash-out, fast wash-in and slow wash-out, and delayed enhancement was roughly 4:5:1. A definite diagnosis of HEAML depended on the pathological findings of the epithelioid cells in lesions and the expression of human melanoma black 45, smooth muscle actin,melanoma antigen, and actin by immunohistochemical staining. HEAML had a relatively low malignant rate of 3.91%. However, surgical resection was the main treatment for HEAML, due to the difficulty diagnosing before operation.CONCLUSION HEAML is a rare and easily misdiagnosed disease, and it should be diagnosed carefully, taking into account clinical course, imaging, pathological,and immunohistochemical findings.展开更多

Background The objective of this paper is to analyze the current status of monkeypox worldwide.In the face of this public health threat,our purpose is to elucidate the clinical characteristics and epidemiology of monk...Background The objective of this paper is to analyze the current status of monkeypox worldwide.In the face of this public health threat,our purpose is to elucidate the clinical characteristics and epidemiology of monkeypox,the developmental progress of monkeypox-related drugs and the vaccines available.Data sources The literature review was performed in databases including PubMed,Science Direct and Google Scholar up to July 2022.Results Since May 2022,the World Health Organization has reported more than 45,000 confirmed cases from 92 nonendemic countries,including nine deaths.Although some women and children have been infected so far,most cases have occurred among men who have sex with other men,especially those with multiple sexual partners or anonymous sex.Conclusions Pediatric monkeypox infection has been associated with a higher likelihood of severe illness and mortality than in adults.Severe monkeypox illness in pediatrics often requires adjunctive antiviral therapy.It is crucial for all countries to establish sound monitoring and testing systems and be prepared with emergency preparedness.展开更多
Accumulating evidence indicates that RNA methylation at N6-methyladenosine(m6A)plays an important regulatory role in gene expression and aberrant mRNA m6A modification is often associated with a variety of cancers.How...Accumulating evidence indicates that RNA methylation at N6-methyladenosine(m6A)plays an important regulatory role in gene expression and aberrant mRNA m6A modification is often associated with a variety of cancers.However,little is known whether and how m6A-modification impacts long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)and lncRNA-mediated tumorigenesis,particularly in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).In the present study,we report that a previously uncharacterized lncRNA,LINC00901,promotes pancreatic cancer cell growth and invasion and moreover,LINC00901 is subject to m6A modification which regulates its expression.In this regard,YTHDF1 serves as a reader for the m6A modified LINC00901 and downregulates the LINC00901 level.Notably,two conserved m6A sites in LINC00901 are critical to the recognition of LINC00901 by YTHDF1.Finally,RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and gene function analysis revealed that LINC00901 positively regulates MYC through upregulation of IGF2BP2,a known RNA binding protein that can enhance MYC mRNA stability.Together,our results suggest that there is a LINC00901-IGF2BP2-MYC axis through which LINC00901 promotes PDAC progression in an m6A dependent manner.展开更多

For the uplink in the long-term evolution(LTE)systems,the physical random access channel(PRACH)adopts Zadoff–Chu(ZC) sequences as preamble sequences,and each user can choose a unique cyclic shift for user identificat...For the uplink in the long-term evolution(LTE)systems,the physical random access channel(PRACH)adopts Zadoff–Chu(ZC) sequences as preamble sequences,and each user can choose a unique cyclic shift for user identification.In high-mobility scenario,the Doppler frequency shift raises up the false alarm probability by inducing the correlation peak offsetting at the receiver side.Traditional detection method utilizes multiple search windows for searching the potential uplink users.When the Doppler frequency shift is larger than the subcarrier spacing,the energy of correlation peak leaks outside the search window and increases the false alarm probability.In this paper,we present a novel design for PRACH preamble sequence for high-speed railway scenario.Through numerical observation,we find out that the offset of the correlation peaks only depends on the initial root sequence number and the length of ZC sequences.Therefore,the root number of ZC sequences should be carefully designed to generate a preamble sequence to fight against the Doppler frequency shift.Consequently,those offsets of the correlation peaks are concentrated within a single search window,resulting in lower complexity of detection and lower probability of false alarm for random access in LTE uplink.展开更多

To investigate the effect of surface-modified nanoparticles(NPs)on the inclusion refinement and microstructure evolution,deoxidized experiment ingots with different amounts of modified NPs were manufactured under diff...To investigate the effect of surface-modified nanoparticles(NPs)on the inclusion refinement and microstructure evolution,deoxidized experiment ingots with different amounts of modified NPs were manufactured under different cooling conditions.Laser scanning confocal microscope(LSCM)was hereby used for in-situ observation of the phase transition and microstructural evolution during heat cycle process.The results revealed that the inclusion size was always smaller under water quenching than under air cooling,and the number of inclusions was greater under water quenching.After NP addition,the nucleant inclusions were identified as MgAl_(2)O_(4)spinel and irregular TiN inclusion from SEM-EDS measurement and equilibrium calculations using Factsage thermodynamic software.The higher cooling rate under water quenching resulted in less polygonal ferrite decrease and the formation of bainite in the steel.The LSCM experiments showed that ferrite side plates(FSP)always formed on the boundary prior to the formation of acicular ferrite(AF)on the intragranular inclusions,and the start transformation temperatures of FSP and AF phases both lowered after NP addition.The higher cooling rate and NP addition contributed to AF formation and increased the degree of interlocking of the AF phase.Finally,the relationship between the characteristics of inclusions and the kinetics of AF was investigated.展开更多

Among the patients with clinical symptoms mentioned, 61.93%(205/331) were asymptomatic, 34.74%(115/331) showed upper or right upper quadrant abdomen discomfort, while a few of them showed abdominal mass, gastrointestinal symptoms, low fever, or weight loss. The misdiagnosis rate of HEAML was as high as 40.34%(165/409) due to its nonspecific imaging findings. Most of the tumors were solitary and round in morphology, with clear boundaries. Ultrasound scan indicated low echo with internal nonuniformity and rich blood supply in most cases. Computer tomography/magnetic resonance imaging enhanced scan showed varied characteristics. The ratio of fast wash-in and fast wash-out, fast wash-in and slow wash-out, and delayed enhancement was roughly 4:5:1. A definite diagnosis of HEAML depended on the pathological findings of the epithelioid cells in lesions and the expression of human melanoma black 45, smooth muscle actin,melanoma antigen, and actin by immunohistochemical staining. HEAML had a relatively low malignant rate of 3.91%. However, surgical resection was the main treatment for HEAML, due to the difficulty diagnosing before operation.CONCLUSION HEAML is a rare and easily misdiagnosed disease, and it should be diagnosed carefully, taking into account clinical course, imaging, pathological,and immunohistochemical findings.

文摘Terahertz(THz)wireless communication has the capability to connect massive devices using its ultra-large spectrum resource.We propose a hybrid precoding scheme for the cluster-based multi-carrier beam division multiple access(MC-BDMA)to enable THz massive connections.Both the inter-beam interference and inter-band power leakage in this system are considered.A mathematical model is established to analyze and reduce their effects on the THz signal transmission.By considering the peculiarities of THz channels and characteristics of THz hardware components,we further propose a three-step hybrid precoding algorithm with low complexity,where the received signal power enhancement,the inter-beam interference elimination,and the inter-band power leakage suppression are conducted in succession.Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the high spectrum efficiency and high energy efficiency of our proposed algorithm,especially in the massive-connection scenarios.
文摘Background The objective of this paper is to analyze the current status of monkeypox worldwide.In the face of this public health threat,our purpose is to elucidate the clinical characteristics and epidemiology of monkeypox,the developmental progress of monkeypox-related drugs and the vaccines available.Data sources The literature review was performed in databases including PubMed,Science Direct and Google Scholar up to July 2022.Results Since May 2022,the World Health Organization has reported more than 45,000 confirmed cases from 92 nonendemic countries,including nine deaths.Although some women and children have been infected so far,most cases have occurred among men who have sex with other men,especially those with multiple sexual partners or anonymous sex.Conclusions Pediatric monkeypox infection has been associated with a higher likelihood of severe illness and mortality than in adults.Severe monkeypox illness in pediatrics often requires adjunctive antiviral therapy.It is crucial for all countries to establish sound monitoring and testing systems and be prepared with emergency preparedness.

文摘Accumulating evidence indicates that RNA methylation at N6-methyladenosine(m6A)plays an important regulatory role in gene expression and aberrant mRNA m6A modification is often associated with a variety of cancers.However,little is known whether and how m6A-modification impacts long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)and lncRNA-mediated tumorigenesis,particularly in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).In the present study,we report that a previously uncharacterized lncRNA,LINC00901,promotes pancreatic cancer cell growth and invasion and moreover,LINC00901 is subject to m6A modification which regulates its expression.In this regard,YTHDF1 serves as a reader for the m6A modified LINC00901 and downregulates the LINC00901 level.Notably,two conserved m6A sites in LINC00901 are critical to the recognition of LINC00901 by YTHDF1.Finally,RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and gene function analysis revealed that LINC00901 positively regulates MYC through upregulation of IGF2BP2,a known RNA binding protein that can enhance MYC mRNA stability.Together,our results suggest that there is a LINC00901-IGF2BP2-MYC axis through which LINC00901 promotes PDAC progression in an m6A dependent manner.
文摘A tremendous amount of data has been generated by global financial markets everyday,and such time-series data needs to be analyzed in real time to explore its potential value.In recent years,we have witnessed the successful adoption of machine learning models on financial data,where the importance of accuracy and timeliness demands highly effective computing frameworks.However,traditional financial time-series data processing frameworks have shown performance degradation and adaptation issues,such as the outlier handling with stock suspension in Pandas and TA-Lib.In this paper,we propose HXPY,a high-performance data processing package with a C++/Python interface for financial time-series data.HXPY supports miscellaneous acceleration techniques such as the streaming algorithm,the vectorization instruction set,and memory optimization,together with various functions such as time window functions,group operations,down-sampling operations,cross-section operations,row-wise or column-wise operations,shape transformations,and alignment functions.The results of benchmark and incremental analysis demonstrate the superior performance of HXPY compared with its counterparts.From MiBs to GiBs data,HXPY significantly outperforms other in-memory dataframe computing rivals even up to hundreds of times.

文摘For the uplink in the long-term evolution(LTE)systems,the physical random access channel(PRACH)adopts Zadoff–Chu(ZC) sequences as preamble sequences,and each user can choose a unique cyclic shift for user identification.In high-mobility scenario,the Doppler frequency shift raises up the false alarm probability by inducing the correlation peak offsetting at the receiver side.Traditional detection method utilizes multiple search windows for searching the potential uplink users.When the Doppler frequency shift is larger than the subcarrier spacing,the energy of correlation peak leaks outside the search window and increases the false alarm probability.In this paper,we present a novel design for PRACH preamble sequence for high-speed railway scenario.Through numerical observation,we find out that the offset of the correlation peaks only depends on the initial root sequence number and the length of ZC sequences.Therefore,the root number of ZC sequences should be carefully designed to generate a preamble sequence to fight against the Doppler frequency shift.Consequently,those offsets of the correlation peaks are concentrated within a single search window,resulting in lower complexity of detection and lower probability of false alarm for random access in LTE uplink.

文摘A 100-J-level Nd:glass laser system in nanosecond-scale pulse width has been constructed to perform as a standard source of high-fluence-laser science experiments. The laser system, operating with typical pulse durations of 3–5 ns and beam diameter 60 mm, employs a sequence of successive rod amplifiers to achieve 100-J-level energy at 1053 nm at3 ns. The frequency conversion can provide energy of 50-J level at 351 nm. In addition to the high stability of the energy output, the most valuable of the laser system is the high spatiotemporal beam quality of the output, which contains the uniform square pulse waveform, the uniform flat-top spatial fluence distribution and the uniform flat-top wavefront.

文摘To investigate the effect of surface-modified nanoparticles(NPs)on the inclusion refinement and microstructure evolution,deoxidized experiment ingots with different amounts of modified NPs were manufactured under different cooling conditions.Laser scanning confocal microscope(LSCM)was hereby used for in-situ observation of the phase transition and microstructural evolution during heat cycle process.The results revealed that the inclusion size was always smaller under water quenching than under air cooling,and the number of inclusions was greater under water quenching.After NP addition,the nucleant inclusions were identified as MgAl_(2)O_(4)spinel and irregular TiN inclusion from SEM-EDS measurement and equilibrium calculations using Factsage thermodynamic software.The higher cooling rate under water quenching resulted in less polygonal ferrite decrease and the formation of bainite in the steel.The LSCM experiments showed that ferrite side plates(FSP)always formed on the boundary prior to the formation of acicular ferrite(AF)on the intragranular inclusions,and the start transformation temperatures of FSP and AF phases both lowered after NP addition.The higher cooling rate and NP addition contributed to AF formation and increased the degree of interlocking of the AF phase.Finally,the relationship between the characteristics of inclusions and the kinetics of AF was investigated.
