Simulation of the Ecosystem Productivity Responses to Aerosol Diffuse Radiation Fertilization Effects over the Pan-Arctic during 2001–19

The pan-Arctic is confronted with air pollution transported from lower latitudes.Observations have shown that aerosols help increase plant photosynthesis through the diffuse radiation fertilization effects(DRFEs).While such DRFEs have been explored at low to middle latitudes,the aerosol impacts on pan-Arctic ecosystems and the contributions by anthropogenic and natural emission sources remain less quantified.Here,we perform regional simulations at 0.2o×0.2ousing a well-validated vegetation model(Yale Interactive terrestrial Biosphere,YIBs)in combination with multi-source of observations to quantify the impacts of aerosol DRFEs on the net primary productivity(NPP)in the pan-Arctic during 2001-19.Results show that aerosol DRFEs increase pan-Arctic NPP by 2.19 Pg C(12.8%)yr^(-1)under clear-sky conditions,in which natural and anthropogenic sources contribute to 8.9% and 3.9%,respectively.Under all-sky conditions,such DRFEs are largely dampened by cloud to only 0.26 Pg C(1.24%)yr^(-1),with contributions of 0.65% by natural and 0.59% by anthropogenic species.Natural aerosols cause a positive NPP trend of 0.022% yr^(-1)following the increased fire activities in the pan-Arctic.In contrast,anthropogenic aerosols induce a negative trend of-0.01% yr^(-1)due to reduced emissions from the middle latitudes.Such trends in aerosol DRFEs show a turning point in the year of 2007 with more positive NPP trends by natural aerosols but negative NPP trends by anthropogenic aerosols thereafter.Though affected by modeling uncertainties,this study suggests a likely increasing impact of aerosols on terrestrial ecosystems in the pan-Arctic under global warming. 展开更多

High-temperature treatment is key to the preparation of zeolite catalysts.Herein,the effects of hightemperature treatment on the property and performance of HZSM-5 zeolites were studied in this work.X-Ray diffraction,N2physisorption,27Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance(MAS NMR),and temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia results indicated that the hightemperature treatment at 650℃ hardly affected the inherent crystal and texture of HZSM-5zeolites but facilitated the conversion of framework Al to extra-framework Al,reducing the acid site and enhancing the acid strength.Moreover,the high-temperature treatment improved the performance of HZSM-5 zeolites in n-heptane catalytic cracking,promoting the conversion and light olefins yield while inhibiting coke formation.Based on the kinetic and mechanism analysis,the improvement of HZSM-5 performance caused by high-temperature treatment has been attributed to the formation of extra-framework Al,which enhanced the acid strength,facilitated the bimolecular reaction,and promoted the entropy change to overcome a higher energy barrier in n-heptane catalytic cracking. 展开更多

Lightweight thin-walled structures with lattice infill are widely desired in satellite for their high stiffness-to-weight ratio and superior buckling strength resulting fromthe sandwich effect.Such structures can be fabricated bymetallic additive manufacturing technique,such as selective laser melting(SLM).However,the maximum dimensions of actual structures are usually in a sub-meter scale,which results in restrictions on their appliance in aerospace and other fields.In this work,a meter-scale thin-walled structure with lattice infill is designed for the fuel tank supporting component of the satellite by integrating a self-supporting lattice into the thickness optimization of the thin-wall.The designed structure is fabricated by SLM of AlSi10Mg and cold metal transfer welding technique.Quasi-static mechanical tests and vibration tests are both conducted to verify the mechanical strength of the designed large-scale lattice thin-walled structure.The experimental results indicate that themeter-scale thin-walled structure with lattice infill could meet the dimension and lightweight requirements of most spacecrafts. 展开更多

Carnivorous plants,for instance,Dionaea muscipula and Nepenthes pitcher plant,inspired the innovation of advanced stimuli-responsive actuators and lubricant-infused slippery surfaces,respectively.However,hybrid bionic devices that combine the active and passive prey trapping capabilities of the two kinds of carnivorous plants remain a challenge.Herein,we report a moisture responsive shape-morphing slippery surface that enables both moisture responsive shapemorphing and oil-lubricated water repellency for simultaneous active-and passive-droplet manipulation.The moisture deformable slippery surface is prepared by creating biomimetic microstructures on graphene oxide(GO)membrane via femtosecond laser direct writing and subsequent lubricating with a thin layer of oil on the laser structured reduced GO(LRGO)surface.The integration of a lubricant-infused slippery surface with an LRGO/GO bilayer actuator endows the actuator with droplet sliding ability and promotes the moisture deformation performance due to oil-enhanced water repellency of the inert layer(LRGO).Based on the shape-morphing slippery surface,we prepared a series of proof-of-concept actuators,including a moisture-response Dionaea muscipula actuator,a smart frog tongue,and a smart flower,demonstrating their versatility for active/passive trapping,droplet manipulation,and sensing. 展开更多

Globally,the efficient utilization of polymer wastes is one of the most important issues for current sustainable development topics.Herein,a green and efficient low-temperature combustion approach is proposed to deal with polymer wastes and recover heat energy,simultaneously alleviating the environment and energy crisis.Non-noble metal oxides(Al_(2)O_(3),Fe_(2)O_(3),NiO_(2),ZrO_(2),La_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)) were prepared,characterized and screened to boost the low-temperature combustion of polyethylene waste at 300℃ in air.The mass change,heat release and CO_(x) formation were studied in details and employed to evaluate the combustion rate and efficiency.It was found that CeO_(2)significantly enhanced the combustion rate and efficiency,which was respectively 2 and 7 times that of non-catalytic case.An interesting phenomenon was observed that the catalytic performance of CeO_(2) in polyethylene low-temperature combustion was significantly improved by the 7-day storage in the room environment or water treatment.XPS analysis confirmed the co-existence of Ce^(3+) and Ce^(4+) in CeO_(2),and the 7-day storage and water treatment promoted the amount of Ce^(3+),which facilitated the formation of the oxygen vacancies.That may be the reason why CeO_(2) exhibited excellent catalytic performance in polyethylene low-temperature combustion. 展开更多

Full-frame Data Reduction Method:A Data Mining Tool to Detect the Potential Variations in Optical Photometry

A Synchronous Photometry Data Extraction(SPDE)program,performing indiscriminate monitoring of all stars appearing in the same field of view of an astronomical image,is developed by integrating several Astropy affiliated packages to make full use of time series observed by traditional small/medium aperture ground-based telescopes.The complete full-frame stellar photometry data reductions implemented for the two time series of cataclysmic variables:RX J2102.0+3359 and Paloma J0524+4244 produce 363 and 641 optimal light curves,respectively.A cross-identification with SIMBAD finds 23 known stars,of which 16 are red giant-/horizontal-branch stars,2 W UMa-type eclipsing variables,2 program stars,an X-ray source and 2 Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System variables.Based on the data products from the SPDE program,a follow-up light curve analysis program identifies 32 potential variable light curves,of which 18 are from the time series of RX J2102.0+3359,and 14 are from that of Paloma J0524+4244.They are preliminarily separated into periodic,transient,and peculiar types.By querying for the 58 VizieR online data catalogs,their physical parameters and multi-band brightness spanning X-ray to radio are compiled for future analysis. 展开更多

The experiments were conducted to focus on the desulfurization and evaporation characteristics of lime slurry droplets at 298-383 K. We designed an evaporation-reaction chamber with quartz glass windows.The monodisperse slurry droplet stream was injected into the evaporation reaction chamber, and the inlet gas components(air, air + SO_(2)) were introduced into the chamber. We applied the magnified digital in-line holography to measure the droplet parameters and calculated the evaporation rate. The effects of temperature, droplet concentration, and SO_(2) concentration on the evaporation rate of Ca(OH)_(2) droplets were discussed. Moreover, the Ca(OH)_(2) droplets under different experimental conditions were sampled,and the droplets were observed and analyzed using an off-line microscope. The evaporation rate of the Ca(OH)_(2) droplet increased at first, and then decreased during the falling process, and remained constant at last. The average evaporation rate of the Ca(OH)_(2) droplets increased significantly with the temperature increasing. 展开更多

This work dealt with the damping performance and its underlying mechanism in SiC nanoparticles reinforced AZ91D composite(SiC_(np)/AZ91D)processed by cyclic extrusion and compression(CEC).It was found that the CEC process significantly affects the damping performance of the composite due to alterations in the density of dislocations and grain boundaries in the matrix alloy.Although there would be dynamic precipitation of the Mg17Al12 phase during processing which increases the phase interface and limits the mobility of dislocations and grain boundaries.The results also showed that the damping capacity of 1%SiC_(np)/AZ91D composite continuously decreases with adding CEC pass number and it consistently increases with rising the applied temperature.Considering the first derivative of the tanδ-T curve,the dominant damping mechanism based on test temperature can be divided into three regions.These three regions are as follows(i)dislocation vibration of the weak pinning points(≤T_(cr)),(ii)dislocation vibration of the strong pinning points(T_(cr)∼T_(V)),and(iii)grain boundary/interface sliding(≥T_(V)) 展开更多

Due to the insufficient slip systems in hexagonal close-packed structure,twinning is frequently activated to support stable plastic deformation of Mg alloy.In this work,we found four typical twin-like interfaces with misorientations of 102°,109°,142°and 149°,respectively,which had not only a shared[1120]zone axis of neighboring grains,but also overlapped diffraction spots similar to twins.However,highresolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM)analysis revealed that the interfaces in real space deviated from the supposed twinning planes in reciprocal space,i.e.their overlapped diffraction spots.We clarified that the incoherent interfaces were co-axial grain boundaries(CGBs).Additionally,a special angle ofθ,close to 90°,between the interface and one side of basal plane,was frequently formed in CGBs.We proposed that interaction of multiple twinning contributes to the formation of CGBs,and theθis formed due to alternative tensile and compression twinning under a uniaxial loading. 展开更多

为了实现能源转型的目标,中国对太阳能的需求一直在极速增长.然而,太阳能发电潜力受到天气条件的影响并预期在气候变暖背景下发生改变.本文中,作者利用第六次国际耦合模式比较计划(CMIP6)24个气候模式的气象变量以及4个不同形式的光伏模... 为了实现能源转型的目标,中国对太阳能的需求一直在极速增长.然而,太阳能发电潜力受到天气条件的影响并预期在气候变暖背景下发生改变.本文中,作者利用第六次国际耦合模式比较计划(CMIP6)24个气候模式的气象变量以及4个不同形式的光伏模型,预估了在2060年代低排放或高排放情况下中国的光伏发电潜力.多模式集合平均光伏功率在2004-2014年为277.2KWhm-2yr-1,并呈现出从西到东的下降趋势.到2054-2064年,在低排放情景下,全国平均光伏发电潜力将增加2.29%,而在高排放情景下则减少0.43%.低排放情景的排放控制大大增强了地表太阳辐射,促进了东部的光伏发电.相反,在高排放情景下,强烈的变暖对光伏发电产生了抑制作用.极端暖事件使光伏发电潜力在低排放情景下降低0.28%,而高排放情景下降低0.44%,分别相当于当代损失量的两倍和三倍.预估表明排放控制带来的清洁空气和适度变暖对中国未来的太阳能利用是有益的. 展开更多

Although AG measuring and testing technique is not new, the purchase and simultaneous testing of 3 A10 absolute gravimeters is unprecedented in China. This study conducted the first acceptance testing of the AGs at 3 locations(the Jiufengshan Gravity Observation Station, the Global Navigation Satellite System Observation Station in Wuhan, and the Jiugongshan Observation Station in Xianning). The results were compared using a method based on expert validation, and the acceptance testing scheme was formulated by referring to the Technical Regulations for Tectonic Environment Monitoring Networks in China and Specifications for Gravimetry Control. Based on the repeatability, precision, and consistency of the measured g values, the results from each instrument were evaluated using the air pressure precision test. Comparing the instrument reference values, the final test results can identify the indicator parameters for 3 A10 AGs, the effects of the surrounding environment, and the related parameters on measurement precision. The precision of A10-059, A10-058, and A10-057 exceeded 0.78 μGal, 0.79 μGal, and 0.42 μGal, respectively.This testing scheme can be used as a reference for conducting acceptance testing of AGs in the future and obtaining absolute gravimetric measurements. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)are rare tumors of the gastrointestinal tract accounting for less than 1%of all gut tumors.GISTs occurring in the rectum are extremely rare,and these usually present at an advanced stage compared with other sites.CASE SUMMARY A 60-year-old male who presented with features of sensations of rectal tenesmus was referred to our department with a mass in the lower rectum that was detected during a routine checkup.Colonoscopy,transrectal ultrasound,perianal magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonic contrast were used to diagnose the rectum GIST,and then the patient underwent complete transanal resection using the ultrasonic scalpel.The patient was discharged ten days after the operation and was defined as low risk.Therefore,he had no need to receive subsequent adjuvant therapies,and he had not suffered any anal dysfunction or had any evidence of recurrence at follow up.CONCLUSION Surgical resection with histologically negative margins is the standard curative treatment for rectal GISTs.Appropriate surgical techniques based on the location,size,and resectability of the tumor should attract great attention from clinicians. 展开更多

目的探讨3D全胸腔镜不停跳房间隔缺损(ASD)修补术的学习曲线及安全性。方法 ASD患者206例,完成3D全胸腔镜ASD修补及三尖瓣成形术44例(腔镜组)。累积和(CUSUM)法确定3D胸腔镜ASD修补术的学习曲线。并与传统开胸手术(开胸组)行倾向性评分... 目的探讨3D全胸腔镜不停跳房间隔缺损(ASD)修补术的学习曲线及安全性。方法 ASD患者206例,完成3D全胸腔镜ASD修补及三尖瓣成形术44例(腔镜组)。累积和(CUSUM)法确定3D胸腔镜ASD修补术的学习曲线。并与传统开胸手术(开胸组)行倾向性评分匹配(PSM),分析腔镜组学习期间手术的安全性。结果 CUSUM学习曲线显示手术失败率、手术时间、体外循环时间、术后并发症发生率分别在第34、21、29及39例患者后低于可接受水平。匹配后两组术前特征不存在系统差异。腔镜组体外循环时间长于开胸组(P=0.000);手术时间、呼吸机辅助时间、ICU住院时间、术后并发症及总住院费用两组比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。腔镜组术后引流量明显少于开胸组(P=0.000)。结论 3D胸腔镜不停跳ASD修补术使手术更简化,更安全,不增加术后并发症及住院费用,并能在39例后快速跨越学习曲线。 展开更多

石墨烯纸具有优良的导电导热性能,但强度和硬度较低。为了获得良好的综合力学性能以提高石墨烯纸的实用价值,本文提出了制备石墨烯纸-金属复合材料的构想,从实验上初步研究了电沉积法制备石墨烯纸-金属复合材料的可行性,并探究了石墨烯... 石墨烯纸具有优良的导电导热性能,但强度和硬度较低。为了获得良好的综合力学性能以提高石墨烯纸的实用价值,本文提出了制备石墨烯纸-金属复合材料的构想,从实验上初步研究了电沉积法制备石墨烯纸-金属复合材料的可行性,并探究了石墨烯纸与电沉积金属界面结合情况。采用两种常见镀层金属Cu、Cr,在实验室使用电沉积法制备了石墨烯纸-Cu,石墨烯纸-Cr两种复合镀层材料。利用扫描电镜对复合材料的表面形貌和横截面进行了表征,结果显示石墨烯纸-Cr复合材料的界面结合相对紧密。本文首次将二维错配度应用到石墨烯纸与金属镀层界面结合力分析中,通过计算分析,常温下C的(0001)面与Cr的(110)面的二维错配度为7.26%,晶格匹配度良好.随温度升高,C-Cr界面错配度值减小,即晶格匹配度增加,另外C-Cr二元相图显示C与Cr发生反应生成的碳化物将进一步增强其界面结合。 展开更多
