We report the magnetotransport and thermal properties of RuAs_(2) single crystal.RuAs_(2) exhibits semiconductor behavior and localization effect.The crossover from normal state to diffusive transport in the weak loca...We report the magnetotransport and thermal properties of RuAs_(2) single crystal.RuAs_(2) exhibits semiconductor behavior and localization effect.The crossover from normal state to diffusive transport in the weak localization(WL)state and then to variable range hopping(VRH)transport in the strong localization state has been observed.The transitions can be reflected in the measurement of resistivity and Seebeck coefficient.Negative magnetoresistance(NMR)emerges with the appearance of localization effect and is gradually suppressed in high magnetic field.The temperature dependent phase coherence length extracted from the fittings of NMR also indicates the transition from WL to VRH.The measurement of Hall effect reveals an anomaly of temperature dependent carrier concentration caused by localization effect.Our findings show that RuAs_(2) is a suitable platform to study the localized state.展开更多
Objective:To access the level of knowledge,perceptions,and practice towards adverse events following immunization(AEFI)surveillance among vaccination workers in Zhejiang province,China.Methods:This was a cross-section...Objective:To access the level of knowledge,perceptions,and practice towards adverse events following immunization(AEFI)surveillance among vaccination workers in Zhejiang province,China.Methods:This was a cross-sectional survey involving 768 vaccination workers.Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires and analyzed by using SAS 9.3 software.Knowledge,perceptions,and practice on AEFI surveillance were summarized using frequency tables.The mean±SD value was used as the cut-off for defining good(values≥mean)and poor(values<mean)knowledge,perceptions or practice.Binary logistic regression analysis was used to determine sociodemographic variables associated with knowledge,perceptions,and practice towards AEFI.Results:The proportions of good knowledge,perceptions and practice on AEFI surveillance were 78.13%,57.81%and 66.15%,respectively.Having a higher education background,longer years of experience,previous training on AEFI and≥30 years of age were factors associated with good knowledge,perceptions and practice on AEFI surveillance among vaccination workers.Conclusions:Over half of the respondents had good knowledge,perceptions and practice on AEFI surveillance work.Interventions on improving the vaccination workers’knowledge,perceptions and practice on AEFI surveillance should be considered in order to develop a more effective surveillance system.展开更多
To study the effects of lanthanide ions on the geometrically frustrated antiferromagnets and their magnetic properties,we grew high-quality single crystals of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)by hydrothermal met...To study the effects of lanthanide ions on the geometrically frustrated antiferromagnets and their magnetic properties,we grew high-quality single crystals of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)by hydrothermal method and studied their crystal structures and magnetic properties.The refinements of the crystal structure referred to the powder x-ray diffraction data show that LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)adopt a Kapellasite-type layer structure,which is isostructural to their chlorine analogue.Magnetic susceptibilities demonstrate that LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)have strong antiferromagnetic coupling and a pronounced magnetic frustration effect.Magnetization measurements indicate canted antiferromagnetic ordering of Cu^(2+)ions around 16 K within the kagoméplane and weak ferromagnetic coupling.Moreover,shoulder-like anomalies in specific heat around 16 K could be a signature of emergent of magnetic ordering.The low-temperature negative magnetization and specific heat of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)indicate that Ln^(3+)ions induce more exotic magnetic ground state properties.展开更多
In this study, the dissipation, terminal residues and dietary risk of the cyazofamid residue in three globally consumed minor crops, turnip(Brassica rapa L.), onion(Allium cepa L.)and romaine lettuce(Lactuca sativa L....In this study, the dissipation, terminal residues and dietary risk of the cyazofamid residue in three globally consumed minor crops, turnip(Brassica rapa L.), onion(Allium cepa L.)and romaine lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.)were assessed by supervised field trials at 6 locations of China in 2020. A reliable QuEChERS-LC-MS/MS method was developed for simultaneous analysis of cyazofamid and its primary metabolite, 4-chloro-5-p-tolylimidazole-2-carbonitrile(CCIM). The average recoveries of cyazofamid and CCIM in turnip, onion and romaine lettuce were 79%–97% and 77%–99%, respectively. The half-lives of cyazofamid in these crops were 5.7–6.5, 5.3–8.7 and 5.8–6.5 days in turnip, onion and romaine lettuce, respectively, with the final cyazofamid residues at harvest all lower than limit of quantitation(LOQ, 0.01 mg/kg). The turnip roots, onion bulbs and romaine lettuce leaves grown in China under Good Agricultural Practices conditions and harvested 10, 14 and 5 days, respectively, after the cyazofamid SC(100 g/L)application, would be reasonably safe for consumption by the general population. The maximum residue limit(MRL)values of cyazofamid could be tentatively set as 10 mg/kg for turnip leaves, 0.3 mg/kg for turnip roots, 0.05 mg/kg for onion bulbs, and 10 mg/kg for romaine lettuce leaves.展开更多
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a highly prevalent malignancy worldwide,and new therapeutic targets urgently need to be found to prolong patient survival.5-methoxytryptophan(5-MTP)is a tryptophan metabolite found ...BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a highly prevalent malignancy worldwide,and new therapeutic targets urgently need to be found to prolong patient survival.5-methoxytryptophan(5-MTP)is a tryptophan metabolite found in animals and humans.However,the effects of 5-MTP on proliferation and apoptosis of CRC cells are currently unknown.AIM To investigate the effects of 5-MTP on the proliferation,migration,invasion,and apoptosis abilities of CRC cells.Additionally,we seek to explore whether 5-MTP has the potential to be utilized as a drug for the treatment of CRC.METHODS In order to evaluate the effect of 5-MTP on CRC cells,a series of experiments were conducted for evaluation.Colony formation assay and Cell Counting Kit 8 assays were used to investigate the impact of 5-MTP on the proliferation of CRC cell lines.Cell cycle assays were employed to examine the effect of 5-MTP on cellular growth.In addition,we investigated the effects of 5-MTP on apoptosis and reactive oxygen species in HCT-116 cells.To obtain a deeper understanding of how 5-MTP affects CRC,we conducted a study to examine its influence on the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in CRC cells.RESULTS This article showed that 5-MTP promoted apoptosis and cell cycle arrest and inhibited cell proliferation in CRC cells.In many articles,it has been reported that PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway is one of the most important signaling pathways involved in internal regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. Nevertheless, 5-MTP combined with PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway inhibitors significantly promotedapoptosis and cell cycle arrest and inhibited cell proliferation in CRC cells compared with 5-MTP alone in ourstudy.CONCLUSIONTherefore, there is strong evidence that 5-MTP can be used as an effective medicine for CRC treatment.展开更多

Long noncod...Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered a major health epidemic with an estimated 32.4% worldwide prevalence. No drugs have yet been approved and therapeutic nodes remain a major unmet need. Long noncoding RNAs are emerging as an important class of novel regulators influencing multiple biological processes and the pathogenesis of NAFLD. Herein, we described a novel long noncoding RNA, lnc_217, which was liver enriched and upregulated in high-fat diet-fed mice, and a genetic animal model of NAFLD. We found that liver specific knockdown of lnc_217 was resistant to high-fat diet-induced hepatic lipid accumulation and decreased serum lipid in mice. Mechanistically, we demonstrated that knockdown of lnc_217 not only decreased de novo lipogenesis by inhibiting sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c cleavage but also increased fatty acid β- oxidation through activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α and carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1α. Taken together, we conclude that lnc_217 may be a novel regulator of hepatic lipid metabolism and a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of hepatic steatosis and NAFLD-related metabolic disorders.展开更多
Data security and user privacy are two main security concerns in the cold-chain logistics system(CCLS).Many security issues exist in traditional CCLS,destroying data security and user privacy.The digital signature can...Data security and user privacy are two main security concerns in the cold-chain logistics system(CCLS).Many security issues exist in traditional CCLS,destroying data security and user privacy.The digital signature can provide data verification and identity authentication based on the mathematical difficulty problem for logistics data sharing in CCLS.This paper first established a blockchain-enabled cold-chain logistics system(BCCLS)based on union blockchain technology,which can provide secure data sharing among different logistics nodes and guarantee logistics data security with the untampered blockchain ledger.Meanwhile,a lattice-based undeniable signature scheme is designed to strengthen the security of logistics data and user privacy against quantum attacks.This scheme is based on the lattice assumption,which can provide anti-quantum security for BCCLS in the future quantum computer age.It also establishes the undeniable mechanism that guarantees that the actual signer cannot deny a valid signature.Then,security proof shows that this undeniable signature scheme is correct and safe,and an efficiency comparison shows that it is more efficient than other schemes in similar literature.The performance evaluations of transaction throughput and latency show that the proposed BCCLS is efficient and practical.This work can improve the security and efficiency of logistics data management and promote the reform and development of the logistics industry.展开更多

The spread of COVID-19 has made it difficult for the elderly to conduct stable social activities, increasing feelings of loneliness. The metaverse is a virtual world that mirrors reality. This allows the elderly to overcome the constraints of reality and perform social activities stably and continuously, providing new ideas for alleviating loneliness. Methods By analyzing their needs, a virtual social center framework for the elderly was proposed in this study. In addition, a prototype system was designed according to this framework. The elderly can socialize in virtual reality with metaverse-related technologies and human–computer interaction tools. Additionally, a test was conducted jointly with the chief physician of the geriatric rehabilitation department of a tertiary hospital. Results The results demonstrated that the mental state of the elderly who had used the virtual social center was significantly better than that of those who had not used it. Conclusions Thus, virtual social centers can help relieve loneliness and depression among the elderly with increasing global epidemics and an aging society. Hence,they have promotional value.展开更多

Objective:To explore and analyze the effect of humanistic nursing care on elderly type 2 diabetes patients.Methods:100 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in our hospital from May 2021-May 2023 were...Objective:To explore and analyze the effect of humanistic nursing care on elderly type 2 diabetes patients.Methods:100 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in our hospital from May 2021-May 2023 were selected for this study.The patients were divided into an experimental group and a reference group by flipping a coin,with 50 cases in each group.The experimental group received humanistic nursing care,while the reference group received routine nursing care.The blood glucose level,compliance and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results:Before the intervention,there was no statistically significant difference between the groups in pre-meal blood glucose,blood glucose 2 hours after eating,and glycosylated hemoglobin(P>0.05).After the intervention,pre-meal blood glucose,blood glucose 2 hours after eating,and glycosylated hemoglobin in the humanities group were significantly better than those in the reference group(P<0.05).Besides,before the intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in compliance with diet,medication,examination,and exercise between the groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,the compliance with diet,medication,examination,and exercise in the experimental group was significantly better than that of the reference group(P<0.05).The patients in the experimental group were significantly more satisfied with the nursing care received than the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Humanistic nursing care can reduce blood sugar in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes,strengthen treatment compliance,and improve satisfaction.展开更多
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery(RYGB) has been demonstrated to be successful for treating type-II diabetes2mellitus(T2DM) patients with a body mass index(BMI),30 kg/m,but reports of RYGB for T2 DM patients with22 a B...Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery(RYGB) has been demonstrated to be successful for treating type-II diabetes2mellitus(T2DM) patients with a body mass index(BMI),30 kg/m,but reports of RYGB for T2 DM patients with22 a BMI,28 kg/mare lacking.T2 DM patients with a BMI,28 kg/mwere prospectively recruited to participate in this study in four hospitals.The endpoint was T2 DM remission(defined by fasting blood glucose(FBG) level,110 mg/d L and hemoglobin(Hb)A1c level,6.0% at 12 months postoperatively).Predictors of remission were investigated by univariate and multivariate analyses.Eighty-six patients were assessed.Eighty-five patients underwent RYGB,with one conversion to open surgery.We compared the values of various variables before and after2 surgery.The mean BMI decreased from 24.68±2.12 to 21.72±2.43 kg/m(P,0.001).Fifty-eight(67.4%) patients were not treated by drugs or insulin after surgery,and 20 patients(23.3%) had complete remission of T2 DM at12 months after surgery with an acceptable number of complications.The mean Hb A1 c level in the remission group was significantly lower than that in the non-remission group.Patients with a higher weight,lower Hb A1 c level,higher C-peptide level,and higher FBG level were more likely to have T2 DM remission in multivariate2 analyses.In conclusion,RYGB was effective and safe for treating T2 DM patients with a BMI,28 kg/m.Complete remission can be predicted by cases having a higher weight,lower Hb A1 c level,higher C-peptide level,and higher FBG level.展开更多
Inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor usually occurs in the brain and rarely occurs in the spinal cord.On imaging,inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor appears very similar to intramedullary tumors such as gliomas.I...Inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor usually occurs in the brain and rarely occurs in the spinal cord.On imaging,inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor appears very similar to intramedullary tumors such as gliomas.It is often misdiagnosed as intramedullary tumor and surgically resected.In view of this,the clinical and magnetic resonance imaging manifestations and the pathological features of 36 cases of inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor in the spinal cord were retrospectively analyzed and summarized.Most of these cases suffered from acute or subacute onset and exhibited a sensorimotor disorder.Among them,six cases were misdiagnosed as having intramedullary gliomas,and inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor was only identified and pathologically confirmed after surgical resection.Lesions in the cervical and thoracic spinal cord were common.Magnetic resonance imaging revealed edema and space-occupying lesions to varying degrees at the cervical-thoracic junction,with a predominant feature of non-closed rosette-like reinforcement(open-loop sign).Pathological examination showed perivascular cuffing of predominantly dense lymphocytes,and demyelination was observed in six of the misdiagnosed cases.These results suggest that tumor-like inflammatory demyelinating disease in the spinal cord is a kind of special demyelinating disease that can be categorized as inflammatory pseudotumor.These solitary lesions are easily confused with intramedullary neoplasms.Patchy or non-closed reinforcement(open-ring sign)on magnetic resonance imaging is the predominant property of inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor,and inflammatory cell infiltration and demyelination are additional pathological properties.展开更多
Caspase-8 plays an important role in the mediation of inflammation and the effect of its role in subarachnoid hemorrhage remains elusive.The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 inflammaso...Caspase-8 plays an important role in the mediation of inflammation and the effect of its role in subarachnoid hemorrhage remains elusive.The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome has been postulated to mediate inflammation during SAH.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of caspase-8 inhibition on SAH injury and further elucidate the molecular mechanisms.In this study,a subarachnoid hemorrhage model was established by endovascular perforation process in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats.Z-IETD-FMK(0.5,1,2 mg/kg;an inhibitor of caspase-8)was delivered via intravenous(tail vein)injection immediately after subarachnoid hemorrhage.After 12 hours of subarachnoid hemorrhage,western blot assay showed that the expression of cleaved caspase-8 was significantly increased at 12 hours,peaked at 24 hours,and then decreased at 72 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Immunofluorescence staining demonstrated that caspase-8 was expressed in microglia after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Z-IETDFMK significantly improved neurological deficits and reduced brain water content 24 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage.The Morris water maze and rotarod test confirmed that Z-IETD-FMK significantly improved spatial learning and memory abilities and motor coordination at 21–27 days after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Furthermore,inhibition of caspase-8 activation reduced the expression of pyrin domain-containing 3,caspase-1,and interleukin-1βafter subarachnoid hemorrhage.In conclusion,our findings suggest that caspase-8 inhibition alleviates subarachnoid hemorrhage-induced brain injuries by suppressing inflammation.The study was approved by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital,School of Medicine,Zhejiang University,China(approval No.2016-193)on February 25,2016.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a highly prevalent malignancy worldwide,and new therapeutic targets urgently need to be found to prolong patient survival.5-methoxytryptophan(5-MTP)is a tryptophan metabolite found in animals and humans.However,the effects of 5-MTP on proliferation and apoptosis of CRC cells are currently unknown.AIM To investigate the effects of 5-MTP on the proliferation,migration,invasion,and apoptosis abilities of CRC cells.Additionally,we seek to explore whether 5-MTP has the potential to be utilized as a drug for the treatment of CRC.METHODS In order to evaluate the effect of 5-MTP on CRC cells,a series of experiments were conducted for evaluation.Colony formation assay and Cell Counting Kit 8 assays were used to investigate the impact of 5-MTP on the proliferation of CRC cell lines.Cell cycle assays were employed to examine the effect of 5-MTP on cellular growth.In addition,we investigated the effects of 5-MTP on apoptosis and reactive oxygen species in HCT-116 cells.To obtain a deeper understanding of how 5-MTP affects CRC,we conducted a study to examine its influence on the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in CRC cells.RESULTS This article showed that 5-MTP promoted apoptosis and cell cycle arrest and inhibited cell proliferation in CRC cells.In many articles,it has been reported that PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway is one of the most important signaling pathways involved in internal regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. Nevertheless, 5-MTP combined with PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway inhibitors significantly promotedapoptosis and cell cycle arrest and inhibited cell proliferation in CRC cells compared with 5-MTP alone in ourstudy.CONCLUSIONTherefore, there is strong evidence that 5-MTP can be used as an effective medicine for CRC treatment.

文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered a major health epidemic with an estimated 32.4% worldwide prevalence. No drugs have yet been approved and therapeutic nodes remain a major unmet need. Long noncoding RNAs are emerging as an important class of novel regulators influencing multiple biological processes and the pathogenesis of NAFLD. Herein, we described a novel long noncoding RNA, lnc_217, which was liver enriched and upregulated in high-fat diet-fed mice, and a genetic animal model of NAFLD. We found that liver specific knockdown of lnc_217 was resistant to high-fat diet-induced hepatic lipid accumulation and decreased serum lipid in mice. Mechanistically, we demonstrated that knockdown of lnc_217 not only decreased de novo lipogenesis by inhibiting sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c cleavage but also increased fatty acid β- oxidation through activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α and carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1α. Taken together, we conclude that lnc_217 may be a novel regulator of hepatic lipid metabolism and a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of hepatic steatosis and NAFLD-related metabolic disorders.

文摘Data security and user privacy are two main security concerns in the cold-chain logistics system(CCLS).Many security issues exist in traditional CCLS,destroying data security and user privacy.The digital signature can provide data verification and identity authentication based on the mathematical difficulty problem for logistics data sharing in CCLS.This paper first established a blockchain-enabled cold-chain logistics system(BCCLS)based on union blockchain technology,which can provide secure data sharing among different logistics nodes and guarantee logistics data security with the untampered blockchain ledger.Meanwhile,a lattice-based undeniable signature scheme is designed to strengthen the security of logistics data and user privacy against quantum attacks.This scheme is based on the lattice assumption,which can provide anti-quantum security for BCCLS in the future quantum computer age.It also establishes the undeniable mechanism that guarantees that the actual signer cannot deny a valid signature.Then,security proof shows that this undeniable signature scheme is correct and safe,and an efficiency comparison shows that it is more efficient than other schemes in similar literature.The performance evaluations of transaction throughput and latency show that the proposed BCCLS is efficient and practical.This work can improve the security and efficiency of logistics data management and promote the reform and development of the logistics industry.

文摘Background The lack of social activities among the elderly due to physical limitations can result in loneliness and depression. The spread of COVID-19 has made it difficult for the elderly to conduct stable social activities, increasing feelings of loneliness. The metaverse is a virtual world that mirrors reality. This allows the elderly to overcome the constraints of reality and perform social activities stably and continuously, providing new ideas for alleviating loneliness. Methods By analyzing their needs, a virtual social center framework for the elderly was proposed in this study. In addition, a prototype system was designed according to this framework. The elderly can socialize in virtual reality with metaverse-related technologies and human–computer interaction tools. Additionally, a test was conducted jointly with the chief physician of the geriatric rehabilitation department of a tertiary hospital. Results The results demonstrated that the mental state of the elderly who had used the virtual social center was significantly better than that of those who had not used it. Conclusions Thus, virtual social centers can help relieve loneliness and depression among the elderly with increasing global epidemics and an aging society. Hence,they have promotional value.

文摘Objective:To explore and analyze the effect of humanistic nursing care on elderly type 2 diabetes patients.Methods:100 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in our hospital from May 2021-May 2023 were selected for this study.The patients were divided into an experimental group and a reference group by flipping a coin,with 50 cases in each group.The experimental group received humanistic nursing care,while the reference group received routine nursing care.The blood glucose level,compliance and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results:Before the intervention,there was no statistically significant difference between the groups in pre-meal blood glucose,blood glucose 2 hours after eating,and glycosylated hemoglobin(P>0.05).After the intervention,pre-meal blood glucose,blood glucose 2 hours after eating,and glycosylated hemoglobin in the humanities group were significantly better than those in the reference group(P<0.05).Besides,before the intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in compliance with diet,medication,examination,and exercise between the groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,the compliance with diet,medication,examination,and exercise in the experimental group was significantly better than that of the reference group(P<0.05).The patients in the experimental group were significantly more satisfied with the nursing care received than the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Humanistic nursing care can reduce blood sugar in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes,strengthen treatment compliance,and improve satisfaction.
文摘Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery(RYGB) has been demonstrated to be successful for treating type-II diabetes2mellitus(T2DM) patients with a body mass index(BMI),30 kg/m,but reports of RYGB for T2 DM patients with22 a BMI,28 kg/mare lacking.T2 DM patients with a BMI,28 kg/mwere prospectively recruited to participate in this study in four hospitals.The endpoint was T2 DM remission(defined by fasting blood glucose(FBG) level,110 mg/d L and hemoglobin(Hb)A1c level,6.0% at 12 months postoperatively).Predictors of remission were investigated by univariate and multivariate analyses.Eighty-six patients were assessed.Eighty-five patients underwent RYGB,with one conversion to open surgery.We compared the values of various variables before and after2 surgery.The mean BMI decreased from 24.68±2.12 to 21.72±2.43 kg/m(P,0.001).Fifty-eight(67.4%) patients were not treated by drugs or insulin after surgery,and 20 patients(23.3%) had complete remission of T2 DM at12 months after surgery with an acceptable number of complications.The mean Hb A1 c level in the remission group was significantly lower than that in the non-remission group.Patients with a higher weight,lower Hb A1 c level,higher C-peptide level,and higher FBG level were more likely to have T2 DM remission in multivariate2 analyses.In conclusion,RYGB was effective and safe for treating T2 DM patients with a BMI,28 kg/m.Complete remission can be predicted by cases having a higher weight,lower Hb A1 c level,higher C-peptide level,and higher FBG level.
文摘Inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor usually occurs in the brain and rarely occurs in the spinal cord.On imaging,inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor appears very similar to intramedullary tumors such as gliomas.It is often misdiagnosed as intramedullary tumor and surgically resected.In view of this,the clinical and magnetic resonance imaging manifestations and the pathological features of 36 cases of inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor in the spinal cord were retrospectively analyzed and summarized.Most of these cases suffered from acute or subacute onset and exhibited a sensorimotor disorder.Among them,six cases were misdiagnosed as having intramedullary gliomas,and inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor was only identified and pathologically confirmed after surgical resection.Lesions in the cervical and thoracic spinal cord were common.Magnetic resonance imaging revealed edema and space-occupying lesions to varying degrees at the cervical-thoracic junction,with a predominant feature of non-closed rosette-like reinforcement(open-loop sign).Pathological examination showed perivascular cuffing of predominantly dense lymphocytes,and demyelination was observed in six of the misdiagnosed cases.These results suggest that tumor-like inflammatory demyelinating disease in the spinal cord is a kind of special demyelinating disease that can be categorized as inflammatory pseudotumor.These solitary lesions are easily confused with intramedullary neoplasms.Patchy or non-closed reinforcement(open-ring sign)on magnetic resonance imaging is the predominant property of inflammatory demyelinating pseudotumor,and inflammatory cell infiltration and demyelination are additional pathological properties.

文摘Caspase-8 plays an important role in the mediation of inflammation and the effect of its role in subarachnoid hemorrhage remains elusive.The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome has been postulated to mediate inflammation during SAH.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of caspase-8 inhibition on SAH injury and further elucidate the molecular mechanisms.In this study,a subarachnoid hemorrhage model was established by endovascular perforation process in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats.Z-IETD-FMK(0.5,1,2 mg/kg;an inhibitor of caspase-8)was delivered via intravenous(tail vein)injection immediately after subarachnoid hemorrhage.After 12 hours of subarachnoid hemorrhage,western blot assay showed that the expression of cleaved caspase-8 was significantly increased at 12 hours,peaked at 24 hours,and then decreased at 72 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Immunofluorescence staining demonstrated that caspase-8 was expressed in microglia after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Z-IETDFMK significantly improved neurological deficits and reduced brain water content 24 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage.The Morris water maze and rotarod test confirmed that Z-IETD-FMK significantly improved spatial learning and memory abilities and motor coordination at 21–27 days after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Furthermore,inhibition of caspase-8 activation reduced the expression of pyrin domain-containing 3,caspase-1,and interleukin-1βafter subarachnoid hemorrhage.In conclusion,our findings suggest that caspase-8 inhibition alleviates subarachnoid hemorrhage-induced brain injuries by suppressing inflammation.The study was approved by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital,School of Medicine,Zhejiang University,China(approval No.2016-193)on February 25,2016.
