文摘Landslides are destructive natural disasters that cause catastrophic damage and loss of life worldwide.Accurately predicting landslide displacement enables effective early warning and risk management. However, the limited availability of on-site measurement data has been a substantial obstacle in developing data-driven models, such as state-of-the-art machine learning(ML)models. To address these challenges, this study proposes a data augmentation framework that uses generative adversarial networks(GANs),a recent advance in generative artificial intelligence(AI),to improve the accuracy of landslide displacement prediction. The framework provides effective data augmentation to enhance limited datasets.A recurrent GAN model,RGAN-LS,is proposed, specifically designed to generate realistic synthetic multivariate time series that mimics the characteristics of real landslide on-site measurement data.A customized moment-matching loss is incorporated in addition to the adversarial loss in GAN during the training of RGAN-LS to capture the temporal dynamics and correlations in real time series data. Then, the synthetic data generated by RGAN-LS is used to enhance the training of long short-term memory(LSTM)networks and particle swarm optimization-support vector machine(PSO-SVM)models for landslide displacement prediction tasks. Results on two landslides in the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)region show a significant improvement in LSTM model prediction performance when trained on augmented data. For instance,in the case of the Baishuihe landslide, the average root mean square error(RMSE)increases by 16.11%,and the mean absolute error(MAE)by 17.59%.More importantly, the model’s responsiveness during mutational stages is enhanced for early warning purposes. However, the results have shown that the static PSO-SVM model only sees marginal gains compared to recurrent models such as LSTM.Further analysis indicates that an optimal synthetic-to-real data ratio(50%on the illustration cases)maximizes the improvements. This also demonstrates the robustness and effectiveness of supplementing training data for dynamic models to obtain better results.By using the powerful generative AI approach,RGAN-LS can generate high-fidelity synthetic landslide data. This is critical for improving the performance of advanced ML models in predicting landslide displacement, particularly when there are limited training data.Additionally, this approach has the potential to expand the use of generative AI in geohazard risk management and other research areas.

文摘BACKGROUND Surgical resection remains the primary treatment for hepatic malignancies, and intraoperative bleeding is associated with a significantly increased risk of death. Therefore, accurate prediction of intraoperative bleeding risk in patients with hepatic malignancies is essential to preventing bleeding in advance and providing safer and more effective treatment.AIM To develop a predictive model for intraoperative bleeding in primary hepatic malignancy patients for improving surgical planning and outcomes.METHODS The retrospective analysis enrolled patients diagnosed with primary hepatic malignancies who underwent surgery at the Hepatobiliary Surgery Department of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University between 2010 and 2020.Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify potential risk factors for intraoperative bleeding.A prediction model was developed using Python programming language, and its accuracy was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis.RESULTS Among 406 primary liver cancer patients,16.0%(65/406)suffered massive intraoperative bleeding.Logistic regression analysis identified four variables as associated with intraoperative bleeding in these patients:ascites[odds ratio(OR):22.839;P<0.05],history of alcohol consumption(OR:2.950;P<0.015),TNM staging(OR:2.441;P<0.001),and albumin-bilirubin score(OR:2.361;P<0.001).These variables were used to construct the prediction model. The 406 patients were randomly assigned to a training set(70%)and a prediction set(30%).The area under the ROC curve values for the model’s ability to predict intraoperative bleeding were 0.844 in the training set and 0.80 in the prediction set.CONCLUSION The developed and validated model predicts significant intraoperative blood loss in primary hepatic malignancies using four preoperative clinical factors by considering four preoperative clinical factors:ascites, history of alcohol consumption,TNM staging, and albumin-bilirubin score.Consequently, this model holds promise for enhancing individualised surgical planning.

文摘BACKGROUND Retroperitoneal leiomyomas(RLs)are rare benign tumours that can occur in the pelvic and/or abdominal parietal retroperitoneum.Once torsion occurs,it causes acute abdominal pain and can even lead to serious consequences such as gangrene, peritonitis, haemoperitoneum and shock if not identified and treated promptly. Therefore,a better understanding of the characteristics of RL torsion is needed. Here,we present a case of acute pedicle torsion of an RL in the posterior peritoneum followed by a literature review.CASE SUMMARY Herein,we report the case of a 42-year-old woman with RL torsion. The patient visited our hospital complaining of lower abdominal pain for 6 d.Pelvic examination revealed a tender mass superior to the uterus.Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)revealed an anterior uterine mass, multiple uterine fibroids and slight pelvic effusion.MRI suggested the possibility of a subserosal myoma of the anterior uterine wall with degeneration.Intraoperative exploration revealed a 10 cm pedunculated mass arising from the posterior peritoneum, with the pedicle torsed two times.Pathological examination confirmed a torsed RL.CONCLUSION In the case of a pelvic mass complicated with acute abdomen, the possibility of torsion should be considered.

文摘BACKGROUND A growing number of recent studies have explored underlying activity in the brain by measuring electroencephalography(EEG)in people with depression. However, the consistency of findings on EEG microstates in patients with depression is poor, and few studies have reported the relationship between EEG microstates, cognitive scales, and depression severity scales.AIM To investigate the EEG microstate characteristics of patients with depression and their association with cognitive functions.METHODS A total of 24 patients diagnosed with depression and 32 healthy controls were included in this study using the Structured Clinical Interview for Disease for The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,Fifth Edition. We collected information relating to demographic and clinical characteristics,as well as data from the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status(RBANS;Chinese version)and EEG.RESULTS Compared with the controls, the duration, occurrence, and contribution of microstate C were significantly higher[depression(DEP):Duration 84.58±24.35,occurrence 3.72±0.56,contribution 30.39±8.59;CON:Duration 72.77±10.23,occurrence 3.41±0.36,contribution 24.46±4.66;Duration F=6.02,P=0.049;Occurrence F=6.19,P=0.049;Contribution F=10.82,P=0.011]while the duration, occurrence, and contribution of microstate D were significantly lower(DEP:Duration 70.00±15.92,occurrence 3.18±0.71,contribution 22.48±8.12;CON:Duration 85.46±10.23,occurrence 3.54±0.41,contribution 28.25±5.85;Duration F=19.18,P<0.001;Occurrence F=5.79,P=0.050;Contribution F=9.41,P=0.013)in patients with depression.A positive correlation was observed between the visuospatial/constructional scores of the RBANS scale and the transition probability of microstate class C to B(r=0.405,P=0.049).CONCLUSION EEG microstate, especially C and D,is a possible biomarker in depression.Patients with depression had a more frequent transition from microstate C to B,which may relate to more negative rumination and visual processing.

文摘Fracturing fluids(FFs)have been widely used to stimulate the tight reservoir. However, current FFs will not only lose their rheological property at high temperatures and high salt but also show an incomplete gel-breaking property.Herein,a double crosslinking network FF with pretty superiorities in rheology and low damage to the core was constructed by introducing both physical crosslinking and chemical crosslinking into the system. The construction of double crosslinking networks enhanced the rheology of this functional FF.The particle sizes of gel-breaking fluids are mainly distributed in 1.0e10,000 nm;furthermore, for every 10,000 mg/L increase in salinity, the particle size of the gel-breaking fluid is decreased by almost half. The adsorption capacity(<1.0 mg/g)gradually decreased with the increase of salinity at 20℃.Moreover,the adsorption of gel-breaking fluids on the rock decreased first and then kept stable with temperature increasing at a salinity of ≤30,000 mg/L,however,showed the opposite trend at 40,000 mg/L.The results of rheology, particle size, static adsorption, and core damage showed that this functional FF could be an alternative for the stimulation of a tight reservoir with high temperature and recycling of produced water with high salinity.

文摘With the observation of a series of ground-based laser interferometer gravitational wave(GW)detectors such as LIGO and Virgo, nearly 100 GW events have been detected successively. At present, all detected GW events are generated by the mergers of compact binary systems and are identified through the data processing of matched filtering.Based on matched filtering,we use the GW waveform of the Newtonian approximate(NA)model constructed by linearized theory to match the events detected by LIGO and injections to determine the coalescence time and utilize the frequency curve for data fitting to estimate the parameters of the chirp masses of binary black holes(BBHs).The average chirp mass of our results is 22.05_(-6.31)^(+6.31)M_(⊙),which is very close to 23.80_(-3.52)^(+4.83)M_(⊙)provided by GWOSC.In the process,we can analyze LIGO GW events and estimate the chirp masses of the BBHs.This work presents the feasibility and accuracy of the low-order approximate model and data fitting in the application of GW data processing. It is beneficial for further data processing and has certain research value for the preliminary application of GW data.

文摘Rashba spin splitting(RSS)and quantum spin Hall effect(QSHE)have attracted enormous interest due to their great significance in the application of spintronics. In this work,we theoretically proposed a new two-dimensional(2D)material H–Pb–F with coexistence of giant RSS and quantum spin Hall effec by using the ab initio calculations. Our results show that H–Pb–F possesses giant RSS(1.21 eV·A)and the RSS can be tuned up to 4.16 e V·A by in-plane biaxial strain, which is a huge value among 2D materials.Furthermore,we also noticed that H–Pb–F is a 2D topological insulator(TI)duo to the strong spin–orbit coupling(SOC)interaction, and the large topological gap is up to 1.35 e V,which is large enough for for the observation of topological edge states at room temperature. The coexistence of giant RSS and quantum spin Hall effect greatly broadens the potential application of H–Pb–F in the field of spintronic devices.

文摘BACKGROUND The relationship between hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)-positive carrier status and liver cancer has been extensively studied. However, the epigenetic changes that occur during progression from HBsAg-positive carrier status or cirrhosis to liver cancer are unknown. The epigenetic modification of DNA hydroxymethylation is critical in tumor development.Further,5-hydroxymethylcytosine(5hmC)is an important base for DNA demethylation and epigenetic regulation. It is also involved in the assembly of chromosomes and the regulation of gene expression. However, the mechanism of action of 5hmC in HBsAgpositive carriers or patients with cirrhosis who develop liver cancer has not been fully elucidated.AIM To investigate the possible epigenetic mechanism of HBsAg-positive carriers and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)progression from cirrhosis.METHODS Forty HBsAg-positive carriers, forty patients with liver cirrhosis, and forty patients with liver cancer admitted to the First People's Hospital of Yongkang between March 2020 and November 2021 were selected as participants.Free DNA was extracted using a cf-DNA kit.cfDNA was extracted by 5hmC DNA sequencing for principal component analysis, the expression profiles of the three groups of samples were detected, and the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)modified by hydroxymethylation were screened.Bioinformatic analysis was used to enrich DEGs,such as in biological pathways.RESULTS A total of 16455 hydroxymethylated genes were identified.Sequencing results showed that 32 genes had significant 5hmC modification differences between HBsAg carriers and liver cancer patients,of which 30 were upregulated and 2 downregulated in patients with HCC compared with HBsAg-positive carriers.Significant 5hmC modification differences between liver cirrhosis and liver cancer patients were identified in 20 genes,of which 17 were upregulated and 3 were downregulated in patients with HCC compared with those with cirrhosis. These genes may have potential loci that are undiscovered or unelucidated, which contribute to the development and progression of liver cancer.Analysis of gene ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes showed that the major signaling pathways involved in the differential genes were biliary secretion and insulin secretion. The analysis of protein interactions showed that the important genes in the protein-protein interaction network were phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and solute carrier family 2.CONCLUSION The occurrence and development of liver cancer involves multiple genes and pathways, which may be potential targets for preventing hepatitis B carriers from developing liver cancer.
