BACKGROUND Obesity has become a serious public health issue,significantly elevating the risk of various complications.It is a well-established contributor to Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF).Evalu...BACKGROUND Obesity has become a serious public health issue,significantly elevating the risk of various complications.It is a well-established contributor to Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF).Evaluating HFpEF in obesity is crucial.Epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)has emerged as a valuable tool for validating prognostic biomarkers and guiding treatment targets.Hence,assessing EAT is of paramount importance.Cardiovascular magnetic resonance(CMR)imaging is acknowledged as the gold standard for analyzing cardiac function and mor-phology.We hope to use CMR to assess EAT as a bioimaging marker to evaluate HFpEF in obese patients.AIM To assess the diagnostic utility of CMR for evaluating heart failure with preserved ejection fraction[HFpEF;left ventricular(LV)ejection fraction≥50%]by measuring the epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)volumes and EAT mass in obese patients.METHODS Sixty-two obese patients were divided into two groups for a case-control study based on whether or not they had heart failure with HFpEF.The two groups were defined as HFpEF+and HFpEF-.LV geometry,global systolic function,EAT volumes and EAT mass of all subjects were obtained using cine magnetic resonance sequences.RESULTS Forty-five patients of HFpEF-group and seventeen patients of HFpEF+group were included.LV mass index(g/m2)of HFpEF+group was higher than HFpEF-group(P<0.05).In HFpEF+group,EAT volumes,EAT volume index,EAT mass,EAT mass index and the ratio of EAT/[left atrial(LA)left-right(LR)diameter]were higher compared to HFpEF-group(P<0.05).In multivariate analysis,Higher EAT/LA LR diameter ratio was associated with higher odds ratio of HFpEF.CONCLUSION EAT/LA LR diameter ratio is highly associated with HFpEF in obese patients.It is plausible that there may be utility in CMR for assessing obese patients for HFpEF using EAT/LA LR diameter ratio as a diagnostic biomarker.Further prospective studies,are needed to validate these proof-of-concept findings.展开更多
BACKGROUND As one of the fatal diseases with high incidence,lung cancer has seriously endangered public health and safety.Elderly patients usually have poor self-care and are more likely to show a series of psychologi...BACKGROUND As one of the fatal diseases with high incidence,lung cancer has seriously endangered public health and safety.Elderly patients usually have poor self-care and are more likely to show a series of psychological problems.AIM To investigate the effectiveness of the initial check,information exchange,final accuracy check,reaction(IIFAR)information care model on the mental health status of elderly patients with lung cancer.METHODS This study is a single-centre study.We randomly recruited 60 elderly patients with lung cancer who attended our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022.These elderly patients with lung cancer were randomly divided into two groups,with the control group taking the conventional propaganda and education and the observation group taking the IIFAR information care model based on the conventional care protocol.The differences in psychological distress,anxiety and depression,life quality,fatigue,and the locus of control in psychology were compared between these two groups,and the causes of psychological distress were analyzed.RESULTS After the intervention,Distress Thermometer,Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)for anxiety and the HADS for depression,Revised Piper’s Fatigue Scale,and Chance Health Locus of Control scores were lower in the observation group compared to the pre-intervention period in the same group and were significantly lower in the observation group compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).After the intervention,Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30(QLQ-C30),Internal Health Locus of Control,and Powerful Others Health Locus of Control scores were significantly higher in the observation and the control groups compared to the pre-intervention period in their same group,and QLQ-C30 scores were significantly higher in the observation group compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The IIFAR information care model can help elderly patients with lung cancer by reducing their anxiety and depression,psychological distress,and fatigue,improving their tendencies on the locus of control in psychology,and enhancing their life qualities.展开更多
Objective:To explore the implementation of gastrointestinal endoscopy technology and endoscopic narrow-band imaging(NBI)in the early screening of gastric cancer and to observe and study their application effects.Metho...Objective:To explore the implementation of gastrointestinal endoscopy technology and endoscopic narrow-band imaging(NBI)in the early screening of gastric cancer and to observe and study their application effects.Methods:During the period from March 2023 to August 2023,312 patients who received gastroscopy in the Kunming Guandu District People’s Hospital were selected,and they underwent both conventional gastroscopy and endoscopic NBI,with clinicopathological tissue biopsy serving as the gold standard.The application value for early screening of gastric cancer was observed and analyzed.Results:The scoring data showed that the clarity of gastric mucosal glandular tube structure,microvascular structure clarity,and lesion contour scoring data of conventional gastroscopy were lower than those of the NBI technology(P<0.05).The screening rate of pathological biopsy in 312 patients was 18.59%(58 cases).Conventional gastroscopy showed a screening rate of 11.53%(36 cases),while NBI technology examined a screening rate of 17.63%(55 cases),and the two-by-two comparison of the screening rate data of the three groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of conventional gastroscopy appeared to be lower than those of NBI technology(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the early screening of gastric cancer,endoscopic NBI technology can be applied to patients.Compared with conventional gastroscopy,it provides a clearer visualization of the structure of the gastric mucosal glandular structure and microvascular structure,with a certain screening rate.Additionally,its sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value are higher,demonstrating outstanding effectiveness.展开更多
The China seas and adjacent areas contain numerous petroleum basins.One of the main challenges for future oil and gas exploration is to identify the inherent patterns of petroleum basin distribution.The formation and ...The China seas and adjacent areas contain numerous petroleum basins.One of the main challenges for future oil and gas exploration is to identify the inherent patterns of petroleum basin distribution.The formation and evolution of petroleum basins along with the migration and accumulation of oil and gas are often closely related to the tectonic environment.The gravity and magnetic fields with high lateral resolution and wide coverage provide important data for regional tectonic research.Based on the gravity data in the Global Satellite Gravity Anomaly Database(V31.1)and magnetic data from the Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid(2-arc-minute resolution)(V2),this study uses integrated gravity and magnetic field technique to obtain integrated gravity and magnetic field result for the China seas and adjacent areas,and then adopts the normalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative technique to conduct partition.Finally,it identifies the relationship between the partition characteristics and tectonics as well as the patterns of petroleum basin occurrence.The research shows that the partition of gravity and magnetic field integrated result has a good correlation with the Neo-Cathaysian tectonic system and tectonic units.The petroleum basins are characterized according to three blocks arranged from north to south and four zones arranged from east to west.The north-south block structure causes the uneven distribution of oil and gas resources in the mainland area and the differences in the hydrocarbon-bearing strata.Petroleum basins are more abundant in the north than in the south.The ages of the main oil-and gas-bearing strata are“Paleozoic–Mesozoic,Paleozoic–Mesozoic–Cenozoic,and Paleozoic–Mesozoic”,in order from north to south.The difference in the overall type of oil and gas resources in all basins is controlled by the east–west zonation.From east to west,the oil and gas resource type exhibits a wave-like pattern of“oil and gas,gas,oil and gas,gas”.The vertical distribution is characterized by an upper oil(Mesozoic–Cenozoic)and lower gas(Mesozoic–Paleozoic)structure.Within the study area,the Paleozoic marine strata should be the main strata of future natural gas exploration.展开更多
The poor wear resistance and bio-inertness surface of polyetheretherketone(PEEK)limits the implant applications of PEEK and its composites.Carbon fiber(CFR)was used to boost the wear resistance of PEEK;however,the bio...The poor wear resistance and bio-inertness surface of polyetheretherketone(PEEK)limits the implant applications of PEEK and its composites.Carbon fiber(CFR)was used to boost the wear resistance of PEEK;however,the bioactivity of carbon fiber-reinforced polyetheretherketone(CFR-PEEK)composites is even worse.The bioactivity of CFR-PEEK can be enhanced by constructing 3D porous structure.Nevertheless,large number of sulfur component introduced by sulfonation shows cytotoxicity and can cause damage to human cells.Besides,the sulfur component affects the cytotoxicity and bioactivity of sulfonated CFR-PEEK(SCFR-PEEK).Hydrothermal treatment can sweep away the sulfur component in the 3D porous structure of SCFR-PEEK.Meanwhile,the changes in crystallinity and hardness after hydrothermal treatment may also affect the wear resistance.Therefore,the effect of hydrothermal temperature on wear resistance,cytotoxicity and bioactivity of SCFR-PEEK were studied.In this work,the samples with hydrothermal temperature 90–120℃exhibited high wear resistance.The 3D pore structure of SCFR-PEEK unchanged after hydrothermal treatment,and the sulfur component in the 3D pore structure gradually decreased with increasing hydrothermal temperature by SEM images and EDS analysis.In addition,SCFR-PEEK treated in 90–120℃.Exhibited low cytotoxicity and high bioactivity,which is beneficial for the implant materials.展开更多
AIM: To compare and calculate the 3-year refractive results, higher-order aberrations(HOAs), contrast sensitivity(CS) and dry eye parameters after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE) and wavefront-guided femtos...AIM: To compare and calculate the 3-year refractive results, higher-order aberrations(HOAs), contrast sensitivity(CS) and dry eye parameters after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE) and wavefront-guided femtosecond laser-assisted laser in situ keratomileusis(FS-LASIK) for correction of high myopia and myopic astigmatism.METHODS: In this prospective, non-randomized comparative study, 78 eyes with spherical equivalent(SE) of-8.11±1.09 diopters(D) received a SMILE surgery, and 65 eyes with SE of-8.05±1.12 D received a wavefront-guided FS-LASIK surgery with the Visu Max femtosecond laser(Carl Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany) for flap cutting. Visual acuity, manifest refraction, CS, HOAs, ocular surface disease index(OSDI) and tear break-up time(TBUT) were evaluated during a 3-year follow-up.RESULTS: The difference of uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA) postoperatively was achieved at 1 mo and at3 mo, whereas the difference of the mean UDVA between two groups at 3 y were not statistically significant(t=-1.59,P=0.13). The postoperative change of SE was 0.89 D in the FS-LASIK group(t=5.76, P=0.00), and 0.14 D in the SMILE group(t=0.54, P=0.59) from 1 mo to 3 y after surgery.At 3-year postoperatively, both HOAs and spherical aberrations in the SMILE group were obviously less than those in the FS-LASIK group(P=0.00), but the coma root mean square(RMS) was higher in the SMILE group(0.59±0.26) than in the FS-LASIK group(0.29±0.14, P=0.00).The mesopic CS values between two groups were not statistically significant at 3 y postoperatively. Comparedwith the FS-LASIK group, lower OSDI scores and longer TBUT values were found in the SMILE group at 1 mo and 3 mo postoperatively. With regard to safety, no eye lost any line of CDVA in both groups at 3 y after surgery. CONCLUSION: Both SMILE and wavefront-guided FSLASIK procedures provide good visual outcomes. Both procedures are effective and safe, but SMILE surgery achieve more stable long-term refractive outcome and better control of early postoperative dry eye as compared to FS-LASIK.展开更多
Carnosine is a dipeptide that scavenges free radicals,inhibits inflammation in the central nervous system,and protects against ischemic and hypoxic brain damage through its anti-oxidative and anti-apoptotic actions.Th...Carnosine is a dipeptide that scavenges free radicals,inhibits inflammation in the central nervous system,and protects against ischemic and hypoxic brain damage through its anti-oxidative and anti-apoptotic actions.Therefore,we hypothesized that carnosine would also protect against white matter damage caused by subcortical ischemic injury.White matter damage was induced by right unilateral common carotid artery occlusion in mice.The animals were treated with 200,500 or 750 mg/kg carnosine by intraperitoneal injection 30 minutes before injury and every other day after injury.Then,37 days later,Klüver-Barrera staining,toluidine blue staining and immunofluorescence staining were performed.Carnosine(200,500 mg/kg) substantially reduced damage to the white matter in the corpus callosum,internal capsule and optic tract,and it rescued expression of myelin basic protein,and alleviated the loss of oligodendrocytes.However,carnosine at the higher dose of 750 mg/kg did not have the same effects as the 200 and 500 mg/kg doses.These findings show that carnosine,at a particular dose range,protects against white matter damage caused by chronic cerebral ischemia in mice,likely by reducing oligodendroglial cell loss.展开更多
AIM: To complete the data of ocular trauma in central China, as a well-known tertiary referral center for ocular trauma, we documented the epidemiological characteristics and visual outcomes of patients hospitalized f...AIM: To complete the data of ocular trauma in central China, as a well-known tertiary referral center for ocular trauma, we documented the epidemiological characteristics and visual outcomes of patients hospitalized for ocular trauma in this region.METHODS: A retrospective study of patients hospitalized for ocular trauma in central China from 2006 to 2011 was performed.· RESULTS: This study included 5964 eyes of 5799 patients. The average age was 35.5 ±21.8y with a male-to-female ratio of 2.8:1. The most common age was 45-59 y age group. Most patients were farmers and workers(51.9%). The most common injuries were firework related(24.5%), road traffic related(24.2%), and work related(15.0%). Among the most common causative agents were firecrackers(24.5%), followed by metal/knife/scissors(21.4%). Most injuries occurred in January(14.2%),February(27.0%), and August(10.0%). There were 8.5%patients with ocular injuries combined with other injuries.The incidence of open ocular injuries(4585 eyes, 76.9%)was higher than closed ocular injuries(939 eyes, 15.7%).The incidences of chemical and thermal ocular injuries were 1.2% and 0.6%. Ocular trauma score(OTS)predicted final visual acuity at non light perception(NLP), 20/200-20/50 and 20/40 with a sensitivity of 100%,and light perception(LP) /hand motion(HM) and 1/200-19/200 with a specificity of 100%.· CONCLUSION: This study provides recent epidemiological data of patients hospitalized for ocular trauma in central China. Some factors influencing the visual outcome include time interval between injury and visit to the clinic, wound location, open or closed globe injury, initial visual acuity, and OTS.展开更多
Chilling has a critical role in the growth and development of perennial plants.The chilling requirement(CR)for dormancy breaking largely depends on the species.However,global warming is expected to negatively affect c...Chilling has a critical role in the growth and development of perennial plants.The chilling requirement(CR)for dormancy breaking largely depends on the species.However,global warming is expected to negatively affect chilling accumulation and dormancy release in a wide range of perennial plants.Here,we used Chimonanthus praecox as a model to investigate the CR for dormancy breaking under natural and artificial conditions.We determined the minimum CR(570 chill units,CU)needed for chilling-induced dormancy breaking and analyzed the transcriptomes and proteomes of flowering and non-flowering flower buds(FBs,anther and ovary differentiation completed)with different CRs.The concentrations of ABA and GA3 in the FBs were also determined using HPLC.The results indicate that chilling induced an upregulation of ABA levels and significant downregulation of SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE(SVP)and FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT)homologs at the transcript level in FBs when the accumulated CR reached 570 CU(IB570)compared to FBs in November(FB.Nov,CK)and nF16(non-flowering FBs after treatment at 16℃for−300 CU),which suggested that dormancy breaking of FBs could be regulated by the ABA-mediated SVP-FT module.Overexpression in Arabidopsis was used to confirm the function of candidate genes,and early flowering was induced in 35S::CpFT1 transgenic lines.Our data provide insight into the minimum CR(570 CU)needed for chilling-induced dormancy breaking and its underlying regulatory mechanism in C.praecox,which provides a new tool for the artificial regulation of flowering time and a rich gene resource for controlling chilling-induced blooming.展开更多

We also determined distance characteristics of the nest sites by Arc GIS 10.0. Nest survival models were constructed in Program MARK for data analysis. Results indicated that in the early breeding season, the apparent survival rate(ASR) in DNNR(52.4%) was significantly greater than that in Pingjingguan(13.5%), and the ASR in the later breeding season in DNNR(26.7%) was not indistinctively correlated with Pingjingguan(3.2%). The daily survival rate(DSR) in the later breeding season was 93.8% in DNNR and 92.0% in Pingjingguan, respectively. The DSRs were both negatively correlated with nest distance to forest edges and settlements. The DSR in Pingjingguan was positively correlated with nest distance to paths and negatively correlated with nest distance to water sources. However, the DSR in DNNR was negatively correlated with nest distance to paths but positively correlated with nest distance to water sources.展开更多

In recent years, immunotherapy has shown promise in the treatment of various solid tumours, including cervical cancer. The overall response rate of the PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor in cervical cancer is 14% - 27%, and when combined with radiotherapy or conventional chemotherapy, the overall response rate can be further improved. Case presentation: We report here a case of a 49-year-old female patient presenting with two metastatic lesions of cervical cancer after postoperative radiotherapy, the first was located in the para-aortic region and the second in the presacral region. The enlarged para-aortic lymph nodes had not previously received radiotherapy, while the enlarged presacral lymph nodes had previously received postoperative radiotherapy. Treatment results showed that the recurrent presacral mass did not respond to the PD-1 inhibitor (camrelizumab) alone, whereas the metastatic para-aortic lymph nodes responded favourably to camrelizumab combined with low-intensity radiotherapy. Conclusion: PD1/PD-L1 inhibitors combined with radiotherapy should make it possible to overcome the bottleneck of conventional radiotherapy, improve patient prognosis or achieve better local control rates with lower radiotherapy doses.展开更多

With the development of modern technology and economy,environmental protection and sustainable development have become the focus of global attention.The promotion and development of electric vehicles(EVs)have bright p...With the development of modern technology and economy,environmental protection and sustainable development have become the focus of global attention.The promotion and development of electric vehicles(EVs)have bright prospects.However,many challenges need to be faced seriously.Under diferent operating conditions,various safety problems of electric vehicles emerge one after another,especially the hidden danger of battery overheating which threatens the performance of electric vehicles.This paper aims to design and optimize a new indirect liquid cooling system for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries.Various design schemes for diferent cooling channel structures and cooling liquid inlet directions are proposed,and the corresponding solid-fuid coupling model is established.COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software is adopted to simulate and analyze the cooling systems.An approximate model is constructed using the Kriging method,which is considered to optimize the battery cooling system and improve the optimization results.Sensitivity parameter analysis and the optimization design of system structure are performed through a set of infuencing factors in the battery thermal management.The results indicate that the method used in this paper can efectively reduce the maximum core temperature and balance the temperature diferences of the battery pack.Compared with the original design,the optimized design,which is based on the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA-II),has an excellent ability in the optimized thermal management system to dissipate thermal energy and keep the overall cooling uniformity of the battery and thermal management system.Furthermore,the optimized system can also prevent thermal runaway propagation under thermal abuse conditions.In summary,this research can provide some practical suggestions and ideas for the engineering and production applications and structural optimization design carried by electric vehicles.展开更多
Sperm cryopreservation is useful in assisted reproductive technology and male fertility preservation.However,freezing and thawing significantly reduces the total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa.In the pr...Sperm cryopreservation is useful in assisted reproductive technology and male fertility preservation.However,freezing and thawing significantly reduces the total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa.In the present study,we explored the effects of peroxiredoxin 6(PRDX6)on total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa after cryopreservation.Semen samples of 20 males with normal parameters were collected and frozen in media supplemented with different concentrations of PRDX6(0 mM,10−5 mM,10−7 mM,and 10−9 mM,respectively).Postthaw total and progressive motility of sperms were measured.The results showed that in comparison with 0 mM,the concentrations of 10−5 mM,10−7 mM,and 10−9 mM of PRDX6 all significantly improved total motility and progressive motility of sperms(p<0.05).The 10−7 mM of PRDX6 showed the best performance.In conclusion,the supplementation of PRDX6 helps to maintain the total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa.展开更多
The skin is the largest organ of the human body,and its aging is visible to the naked eye.The aging rate of men and women is slightly different.This study compared the protein expression of skin samples on the curved ...The skin is the largest organ of the human body,and its aging is visible to the naked eye.The aging rate of men and women is slightly different.This study compared the protein expression of skin samples on the curved forearms of 11 healthy women and 9 healthy men.Quantitative proteomics analysis found that the expression of epidermal proteins in men and women of the same age group was different.Compared with female skin,in male skin,20 proteins were upregulated,and 7 proteins were downregulated.These data suggest that men and women have differences in the speed of skin aging.For the first time in this experiment,a non-invasive mass spectrometer was used to detect 27 different-related epidermal proteins between men and women.Compared with women,among the 20 epidermal proteins upregulated in men,their functions can be classified into antioxidants,epidermal lipid metabolism,signal transduction,membrane transport,and cell biological processes;the 7 downregulated proteins are involved in a variety of biological processes and inflammatory reactions.Our experiments have discovered epidermal proteins related to the differences between men and women,enriching the library of epidermal differential proteins between men and women and enriching the mechanism of skin aging between men and women from the perspective of epidermal differential proteins.展开更多

BACKGROUND The hereditary antithrombin(AT)deficiency caused by SERPINC1 gene mutation is an autosomal dominant thrombotic disorder.An increasing number of studies have shown that mutations in the SERPINC1 rs2227589 po...BACKGROUND The hereditary antithrombin(AT)deficiency caused by SERPINC1 gene mutation is an autosomal dominant thrombotic disorder.An increasing number of studies have shown that mutations in the SERPINC1 rs2227589 polymorphic site are correlated with a risk of venous thromboembolism(VTE)at common sites,such as lower extremity deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism.Currently,there are no reports of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST),a VTE site with a low incidence rate and rs2227589 polymorphism.CASE SUMMARY Here,we report a Chinese CVST case with a mutation of the SERPINC1 rs2227589 polymorphic site,which did not cause significant AT deficiency.In a 50-year-old male patient presenting with multiple cerebral venous sinus thromboses no predisposing factors were detected,although a relative had a history of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis.We performed sequencing of the SERPINC1 gene for the patient and his daughter,which revealed the same heterozygous mutation at the rs2227589 polymorphic site:c.41+141G>A.CONCLUSION The results showed that more studies should be conducted to assess the correlation between rs2227589 polymorphism and CVST.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Obesity has become a serious public health issue,significantly elevating the risk of various complications.It is a well-established contributor to Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF).Evaluating HFpEF in obesity is crucial.Epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)has emerged as a valuable tool for validating prognostic biomarkers and guiding treatment targets.Hence,assessing EAT is of paramount importance.Cardiovascular magnetic resonance(CMR)imaging is acknowledged as the gold standard for analyzing cardiac function and mor-phology.We hope to use CMR to assess EAT as a bioimaging marker to evaluate HFpEF in obese patients.AIM To assess the diagnostic utility of CMR for evaluating heart failure with preserved ejection fraction[HFpEF;left ventricular(LV)ejection fraction≥50%]by measuring the epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)volumes and EAT mass in obese patients.METHODS Sixty-two obese patients were divided into two groups for a case-control study based on whether or not they had heart failure with HFpEF.The two groups were defined as HFpEF+and HFpEF-.LV geometry,global systolic function,EAT volumes and EAT mass of all subjects were obtained using cine magnetic resonance sequences.RESULTS Forty-five patients of HFpEF-group and seventeen patients of HFpEF+group were included.LV mass index(g/m2)of HFpEF+group was higher than HFpEF-group(P<0.05).In HFpEF+group,EAT volumes,EAT volume index,EAT mass,EAT mass index and the ratio of EAT/[left atrial(LA)left-right(LR)diameter]were higher compared to HFpEF-group(P<0.05).In multivariate analysis,Higher EAT/LA LR diameter ratio was associated with higher odds ratio of HFpEF.CONCLUSION EAT/LA LR diameter ratio is highly associated with HFpEF in obese patients.It is plausible that there may be utility in CMR for assessing obese patients for HFpEF using EAT/LA LR diameter ratio as a diagnostic biomarker.Further prospective studies,are needed to validate these proof-of-concept findings.
文摘BACKGROUND As one of the fatal diseases with high incidence,lung cancer has seriously endangered public health and safety.Elderly patients usually have poor self-care and are more likely to show a series of psychological problems.AIM To investigate the effectiveness of the initial check,information exchange,final accuracy check,reaction(IIFAR)information care model on the mental health status of elderly patients with lung cancer.METHODS This study is a single-centre study.We randomly recruited 60 elderly patients with lung cancer who attended our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022.These elderly patients with lung cancer were randomly divided into two groups,with the control group taking the conventional propaganda and education and the observation group taking the IIFAR information care model based on the conventional care protocol.The differences in psychological distress,anxiety and depression,life quality,fatigue,and the locus of control in psychology were compared between these two groups,and the causes of psychological distress were analyzed.RESULTS After the intervention,Distress Thermometer,Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)for anxiety and the HADS for depression,Revised Piper’s Fatigue Scale,and Chance Health Locus of Control scores were lower in the observation group compared to the pre-intervention period in the same group and were significantly lower in the observation group compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).After the intervention,Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30(QLQ-C30),Internal Health Locus of Control,and Powerful Others Health Locus of Control scores were significantly higher in the observation and the control groups compared to the pre-intervention period in their same group,and QLQ-C30 scores were significantly higher in the observation group compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The IIFAR information care model can help elderly patients with lung cancer by reducing their anxiety and depression,psychological distress,and fatigue,improving their tendencies on the locus of control in psychology,and enhancing their life qualities.
文摘Objective:To explore the implementation of gastrointestinal endoscopy technology and endoscopic narrow-band imaging(NBI)in the early screening of gastric cancer and to observe and study their application effects.Methods:During the period from March 2023 to August 2023,312 patients who received gastroscopy in the Kunming Guandu District People’s Hospital were selected,and they underwent both conventional gastroscopy and endoscopic NBI,with clinicopathological tissue biopsy serving as the gold standard.The application value for early screening of gastric cancer was observed and analyzed.Results:The scoring data showed that the clarity of gastric mucosal glandular tube structure,microvascular structure clarity,and lesion contour scoring data of conventional gastroscopy were lower than those of the NBI technology(P<0.05).The screening rate of pathological biopsy in 312 patients was 18.59%(58 cases).Conventional gastroscopy showed a screening rate of 11.53%(36 cases),while NBI technology examined a screening rate of 17.63%(55 cases),and the two-by-two comparison of the screening rate data of the three groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of conventional gastroscopy appeared to be lower than those of NBI technology(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the early screening of gastric cancer,endoscopic NBI technology can be applied to patients.Compared with conventional gastroscopy,it provides a clearer visualization of the structure of the gastric mucosal glandular structure and microvascular structure,with a certain screening rate.Additionally,its sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value are higher,demonstrating outstanding effectiveness.

文摘The China seas and adjacent areas contain numerous petroleum basins.One of the main challenges for future oil and gas exploration is to identify the inherent patterns of petroleum basin distribution.The formation and evolution of petroleum basins along with the migration and accumulation of oil and gas are often closely related to the tectonic environment.The gravity and magnetic fields with high lateral resolution and wide coverage provide important data for regional tectonic research.Based on the gravity data in the Global Satellite Gravity Anomaly Database(V31.1)and magnetic data from the Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid(2-arc-minute resolution)(V2),this study uses integrated gravity and magnetic field technique to obtain integrated gravity and magnetic field result for the China seas and adjacent areas,and then adopts the normalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative technique to conduct partition.Finally,it identifies the relationship between the partition characteristics and tectonics as well as the patterns of petroleum basin occurrence.The research shows that the partition of gravity and magnetic field integrated result has a good correlation with the Neo-Cathaysian tectonic system and tectonic units.The petroleum basins are characterized according to three blocks arranged from north to south and four zones arranged from east to west.The north-south block structure causes the uneven distribution of oil and gas resources in the mainland area and the differences in the hydrocarbon-bearing strata.Petroleum basins are more abundant in the north than in the south.The ages of the main oil-and gas-bearing strata are“Paleozoic–Mesozoic,Paleozoic–Mesozoic–Cenozoic,and Paleozoic–Mesozoic”,in order from north to south.The difference in the overall type of oil and gas resources in all basins is controlled by the east–west zonation.From east to west,the oil and gas resource type exhibits a wave-like pattern of“oil and gas,gas,oil and gas,gas”.The vertical distribution is characterized by an upper oil(Mesozoic–Cenozoic)and lower gas(Mesozoic–Paleozoic)structure.Within the study area,the Paleozoic marine strata should be the main strata of future natural gas exploration.
文摘The poor wear resistance and bio-inertness surface of polyetheretherketone(PEEK)limits the implant applications of PEEK and its composites.Carbon fiber(CFR)was used to boost the wear resistance of PEEK;however,the bioactivity of carbon fiber-reinforced polyetheretherketone(CFR-PEEK)composites is even worse.The bioactivity of CFR-PEEK can be enhanced by constructing 3D porous structure.Nevertheless,large number of sulfur component introduced by sulfonation shows cytotoxicity and can cause damage to human cells.Besides,the sulfur component affects the cytotoxicity and bioactivity of sulfonated CFR-PEEK(SCFR-PEEK).Hydrothermal treatment can sweep away the sulfur component in the 3D porous structure of SCFR-PEEK.Meanwhile,the changes in crystallinity and hardness after hydrothermal treatment may also affect the wear resistance.Therefore,the effect of hydrothermal temperature on wear resistance,cytotoxicity and bioactivity of SCFR-PEEK were studied.In this work,the samples with hydrothermal temperature 90–120℃exhibited high wear resistance.The 3D pore structure of SCFR-PEEK unchanged after hydrothermal treatment,and the sulfur component in the 3D pore structure gradually decreased with increasing hydrothermal temperature by SEM images and EDS analysis.In addition,SCFR-PEEK treated in 90–120℃.Exhibited low cytotoxicity and high bioactivity,which is beneficial for the implant materials.
文摘AIM: To compare and calculate the 3-year refractive results, higher-order aberrations(HOAs), contrast sensitivity(CS) and dry eye parameters after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE) and wavefront-guided femtosecond laser-assisted laser in situ keratomileusis(FS-LASIK) for correction of high myopia and myopic astigmatism.METHODS: In this prospective, non-randomized comparative study, 78 eyes with spherical equivalent(SE) of-8.11±1.09 diopters(D) received a SMILE surgery, and 65 eyes with SE of-8.05±1.12 D received a wavefront-guided FS-LASIK surgery with the Visu Max femtosecond laser(Carl Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany) for flap cutting. Visual acuity, manifest refraction, CS, HOAs, ocular surface disease index(OSDI) and tear break-up time(TBUT) were evaluated during a 3-year follow-up.RESULTS: The difference of uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA) postoperatively was achieved at 1 mo and at3 mo, whereas the difference of the mean UDVA between two groups at 3 y were not statistically significant(t=-1.59,P=0.13). The postoperative change of SE was 0.89 D in the FS-LASIK group(t=5.76, P=0.00), and 0.14 D in the SMILE group(t=0.54, P=0.59) from 1 mo to 3 y after surgery.At 3-year postoperatively, both HOAs and spherical aberrations in the SMILE group were obviously less than those in the FS-LASIK group(P=0.00), but the coma root mean square(RMS) was higher in the SMILE group(0.59±0.26) than in the FS-LASIK group(0.29±0.14, P=0.00).The mesopic CS values between two groups were not statistically significant at 3 y postoperatively. Comparedwith the FS-LASIK group, lower OSDI scores and longer TBUT values were found in the SMILE group at 1 mo and 3 mo postoperatively. With regard to safety, no eye lost any line of CDVA in both groups at 3 y after surgery. CONCLUSION: Both SMILE and wavefront-guided FSLASIK procedures provide good visual outcomes. Both procedures are effective and safe, but SMILE surgery achieve more stable long-term refractive outcome and better control of early postoperative dry eye as compared to FS-LASIK.

文摘Carnosine is a dipeptide that scavenges free radicals,inhibits inflammation in the central nervous system,and protects against ischemic and hypoxic brain damage through its anti-oxidative and anti-apoptotic actions.Therefore,we hypothesized that carnosine would also protect against white matter damage caused by subcortical ischemic injury.White matter damage was induced by right unilateral common carotid artery occlusion in mice.The animals were treated with 200,500 or 750 mg/kg carnosine by intraperitoneal injection 30 minutes before injury and every other day after injury.Then,37 days later,Klüver-Barrera staining,toluidine blue staining and immunofluorescence staining were performed.Carnosine(200,500 mg/kg) substantially reduced damage to the white matter in the corpus callosum,internal capsule and optic tract,and it rescued expression of myelin basic protein,and alleviated the loss of oligodendrocytes.However,carnosine at the higher dose of 750 mg/kg did not have the same effects as the 200 and 500 mg/kg doses.These findings show that carnosine,at a particular dose range,protects against white matter damage caused by chronic cerebral ischemia in mice,likely by reducing oligodendroglial cell loss.

文摘AIM: To complete the data of ocular trauma in central China, as a well-known tertiary referral center for ocular trauma, we documented the epidemiological characteristics and visual outcomes of patients hospitalized for ocular trauma in this region.METHODS: A retrospective study of patients hospitalized for ocular trauma in central China from 2006 to 2011 was performed.· RESULTS: This study included 5964 eyes of 5799 patients. The average age was 35.5 ±21.8y with a male-to-female ratio of 2.8:1. The most common age was 45-59 y age group. Most patients were farmers and workers(51.9%). The most common injuries were firework related(24.5%), road traffic related(24.2%), and work related(15.0%). Among the most common causative agents were firecrackers(24.5%), followed by metal/knife/scissors(21.4%). Most injuries occurred in January(14.2%),February(27.0%), and August(10.0%). There were 8.5%patients with ocular injuries combined with other injuries.The incidence of open ocular injuries(4585 eyes, 76.9%)was higher than closed ocular injuries(939 eyes, 15.7%).The incidences of chemical and thermal ocular injuries were 1.2% and 0.6%. Ocular trauma score(OTS)predicted final visual acuity at non light perception(NLP), 20/200-20/50 and 20/40 with a sensitivity of 100%,and light perception(LP) /hand motion(HM) and 1/200-19/200 with a specificity of 100%.· CONCLUSION: This study provides recent epidemiological data of patients hospitalized for ocular trauma in central China. Some factors influencing the visual outcome include time interval between injury and visit to the clinic, wound location, open or closed globe injury, initial visual acuity, and OTS.

文摘Chilling has a critical role in the growth and development of perennial plants.The chilling requirement(CR)for dormancy breaking largely depends on the species.However,global warming is expected to negatively affect chilling accumulation and dormancy release in a wide range of perennial plants.Here,we used Chimonanthus praecox as a model to investigate the CR for dormancy breaking under natural and artificial conditions.We determined the minimum CR(570 chill units,CU)needed for chilling-induced dormancy breaking and analyzed the transcriptomes and proteomes of flowering and non-flowering flower buds(FBs,anther and ovary differentiation completed)with different CRs.The concentrations of ABA and GA3 in the FBs were also determined using HPLC.The results indicate that chilling induced an upregulation of ABA levels and significant downregulation of SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE(SVP)and FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT)homologs at the transcript level in FBs when the accumulated CR reached 570 CU(IB570)compared to FBs in November(FB.Nov,CK)and nF16(non-flowering FBs after treatment at 16℃for−300 CU),which suggested that dormancy breaking of FBs could be regulated by the ABA-mediated SVP-FT module.Overexpression in Arabidopsis was used to confirm the function of candidate genes,and early flowering was induced in 35S::CpFT1 transgenic lines.Our data provide insight into the minimum CR(570 CU)needed for chilling-induced dormancy breaking and its underlying regulatory mechanism in C.praecox,which provides a new tool for the artificial regulation of flowering time and a rich gene resource for controlling chilling-induced blooming.

文摘To explore the nest survival rate of Reeves' s pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii) and the nest-site factors that affect it, we conducted artificial nest experiments with reference to natural nests at Dongzhai National Nature Reserve(DNNR), Henan Province and Pingjingguan, Hubei Province from April to June 2014 simulating the situation in its early and later breeding season. We also determined distance characteristics of the nest sites by Arc GIS 10.0. Nest survival models were constructed in Program MARK for data analysis. Results indicated that in the early breeding season, the apparent survival rate(ASR) in DNNR(52.4%) was significantly greater than that in Pingjingguan(13.5%), and the ASR in the later breeding season in DNNR(26.7%) was not indistinctively correlated with Pingjingguan(3.2%). The daily survival rate(DSR) in the later breeding season was 93.8% in DNNR and 92.0% in Pingjingguan, respectively. The DSRs were both negatively correlated with nest distance to forest edges and settlements. The DSR in Pingjingguan was positively correlated with nest distance to paths and negatively correlated with nest distance to water sources. However, the DSR in DNNR was negatively correlated with nest distance to paths but positively correlated with nest distance to water sources.
文摘Introduction: Conventional radiotherapy or chemotherapy is ineffective in the treatment of recurrent and metastatic cervical cancer. In recent years, immunotherapy has shown promise in the treatment of various solid tumours, including cervical cancer. The overall response rate of the PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor in cervical cancer is 14% - 27%, and when combined with radiotherapy or conventional chemotherapy, the overall response rate can be further improved. Case presentation: We report here a case of a 49-year-old female patient presenting with two metastatic lesions of cervical cancer after postoperative radiotherapy, the first was located in the para-aortic region and the second in the presacral region. The enlarged para-aortic lymph nodes had not previously received radiotherapy, while the enlarged presacral lymph nodes had previously received postoperative radiotherapy. Treatment results showed that the recurrent presacral mass did not respond to the PD-1 inhibitor (camrelizumab) alone, whereas the metastatic para-aortic lymph nodes responded favourably to camrelizumab combined with low-intensity radiotherapy. Conclusion: PD1/PD-L1 inhibitors combined with radiotherapy should make it possible to overcome the bottleneck of conventional radiotherapy, improve patient prognosis or achieve better local control rates with lower radiotherapy doses.

文摘Melatonin,as a ubiquitous indoleamine hormone,is synthesized primarily by the pineal gland.It has diverse biological effects through quite complex mechanisms.More recently,studies have focused on the mechanism of melatonin in anti-reproductive toxicity/damage.Since melatonin possesses strong antioxidant and anti-apoptotic properties,researchers have examined its potential role in protecting against male reproductive toxicity/damage,which may be induced by chemotherapy or environmental toxicants and can lead to male infertility.In this article,recent progress regarding the protective effects of melatonin on male reproductive toxicity/damage is reviewed.

文摘With the development of modern technology and economy,environmental protection and sustainable development have become the focus of global attention.The promotion and development of electric vehicles(EVs)have bright prospects.However,many challenges need to be faced seriously.Under diferent operating conditions,various safety problems of electric vehicles emerge one after another,especially the hidden danger of battery overheating which threatens the performance of electric vehicles.This paper aims to design and optimize a new indirect liquid cooling system for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries.Various design schemes for diferent cooling channel structures and cooling liquid inlet directions are proposed,and the corresponding solid-fuid coupling model is established.COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software is adopted to simulate and analyze the cooling systems.An approximate model is constructed using the Kriging method,which is considered to optimize the battery cooling system and improve the optimization results.Sensitivity parameter analysis and the optimization design of system structure are performed through a set of infuencing factors in the battery thermal management.The results indicate that the method used in this paper can efectively reduce the maximum core temperature and balance the temperature diferences of the battery pack.Compared with the original design,the optimized design,which is based on the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA-II),has an excellent ability in the optimized thermal management system to dissipate thermal energy and keep the overall cooling uniformity of the battery and thermal management system.Furthermore,the optimized system can also prevent thermal runaway propagation under thermal abuse conditions.In summary,this research can provide some practical suggestions and ideas for the engineering and production applications and structural optimization design carried by electric vehicles.

文摘Sperm cryopreservation is useful in assisted reproductive technology and male fertility preservation.However,freezing and thawing significantly reduces the total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa.In the present study,we explored the effects of peroxiredoxin 6(PRDX6)on total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa after cryopreservation.Semen samples of 20 males with normal parameters were collected and frozen in media supplemented with different concentrations of PRDX6(0 mM,10−5 mM,10−7 mM,and 10−9 mM,respectively).Postthaw total and progressive motility of sperms were measured.The results showed that in comparison with 0 mM,the concentrations of 10−5 mM,10−7 mM,and 10−9 mM of PRDX6 all significantly improved total motility and progressive motility of sperms(p<0.05).The 10−7 mM of PRDX6 showed the best performance.In conclusion,the supplementation of PRDX6 helps to maintain the total and progressive motility of human spermatozoa.

文摘The skin is the largest organ of the human body,and its aging is visible to the naked eye.The aging rate of men and women is slightly different.This study compared the protein expression of skin samples on the curved forearms of 11 healthy women and 9 healthy men.Quantitative proteomics analysis found that the expression of epidermal proteins in men and women of the same age group was different.Compared with female skin,in male skin,20 proteins were upregulated,and 7 proteins were downregulated.These data suggest that men and women have differences in the speed of skin aging.For the first time in this experiment,a non-invasive mass spectrometer was used to detect 27 different-related epidermal proteins between men and women.Compared with women,among the 20 epidermal proteins upregulated in men,their functions can be classified into antioxidants,epidermal lipid metabolism,signal transduction,membrane transport,and cell biological processes;the 7 downregulated proteins are involved in a variety of biological processes and inflammatory reactions.Our experiments have discovered epidermal proteins related to the differences between men and women,enriching the library of epidermal differential proteins between men and women and enriching the mechanism of skin aging between men and women from the perspective of epidermal differential proteins.

文摘A stable and accurate pointing,acquisition system is an important part of initially building intersatellite optical communication links.Satellite platform vibration can cause the system instability and reduce the system precision in building and maintenance of a satellite optical communication system.In this paper,vibration influence is consciously discussed by acquisition time for intersatellite optical communications.Analytical expression of acquisition possibility is derived,taking the scan parameters and platform vibration into account,and vibration influence on the multi-scan acquisition time is also presented.The theoretical result calculated by the proposed analytical expression is approximate to the result by the Monte Carlo simulation.

文摘BACKGROUND The hereditary antithrombin(AT)deficiency caused by SERPINC1 gene mutation is an autosomal dominant thrombotic disorder.An increasing number of studies have shown that mutations in the SERPINC1 rs2227589 polymorphic site are correlated with a risk of venous thromboembolism(VTE)at common sites,such as lower extremity deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism.Currently,there are no reports of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST),a VTE site with a low incidence rate and rs2227589 polymorphism.CASE SUMMARY Here,we report a Chinese CVST case with a mutation of the SERPINC1 rs2227589 polymorphic site,which did not cause significant AT deficiency.In a 50-year-old male patient presenting with multiple cerebral venous sinus thromboses no predisposing factors were detected,although a relative had a history of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis.We performed sequencing of the SERPINC1 gene for the patient and his daughter,which revealed the same heterozygous mutation at the rs2227589 polymorphic site:c.41+141G>A.CONCLUSION The results showed that more studies should be conducted to assess the correlation between rs2227589 polymorphism and CVST.
